Good evening all I hope you had a good Xmas day.. I've started getting some weird muscle spasms particularly in my thumb.. every few mins it goes mad..also noticed this in my face and eye lid. Might sound daft but its really becoming annoying.. is it related to HE?
And I've noticed also my heart rate has increased.. like I can actually feel it beating now.. even if im just resting... just minor things but not had anything like this happen before... anyway sorry to be a pain but I've got no One else to ask as currently waiting until Jan for consultant

Hi, I had similar symptoms for a short while including the pain in my thumb joint and some intermittent leg cramps and the day before Xmas eve had to go to A&E as the pains had gone to my chest. Never experienced pain like it before, thought the worst. ECG, xray etc confirmed no heart issue. Turned out to be low potassium levels but was kept in hospital for 24 hours to monitor. All OK as was home in time for Xmas with two day supply of potassium tablets. Suggest you have a word with your GP for some blood works.
Hi Dear I had my post liver transplant over 4 months now ,like you I get spasms in my back and sometimes both in my back and chest it comes for a minute or 2 but it’s hell ,I spoke to my consultant apperantly it’s my medication and over the period of time it will settle down . Also I was prescribed magnesium for my hands as hands were shaking like Parkinson disease so ask the hospital to call you early for you to see your consultant or speak to your coordinators if you have any . I hope all the best for you and hopefully your symptoms will settle done quickly . Dear have a lovely prosperous healthy New Year.
Might be something to do with low magnesium maybe? I have facial twitches round my eyes from time to time but not when I take magnesium supplements and cut down on coffee. Question to your consultant. Hope you had a nice Christmas break
