Back and walking with caution.

Hello all. Thank you so much for all your messages whilst I was in hospital. I am home in my spinal contraption for two or three months and I am being careful to stay on my feet (that is trying not to dive on the floor! lol). Apparently I have some moderate degeneration to my spine and I suppose that's why I have fractured so easily. So my plan is to get these fractures healed and try not to cause any more! When I am able I shall try through exercise ( gently to start) to build my muscular strength back up to support my weakening frame. Alfred shall be great again! All the very best to you all

Great news that your home and also you will be well looked after by your lovely wife. Handy hint if your corset causes itching due to being warm, keep a knitting needle to hand. Only salvation its winter, imagine being trussed up in the summer we just had ? Hazelx

alfredthegreat in reply to Radnor

Thanks for the tip Radnor. I shall keep a knitting needle handy just in case. So far ok but it's early days! Yes, cold weather helps when you wear one of these contraptions!!

in reply to alfredthegreat

But don’t put it too far up your nose freddy!

You might damage your brain, oh yes sorry, umm oh omg umm sorry I forgot - too late isn’t it ☹️,,,,

Just think of the gas bill and the savings you'll make. I'm dressed in several layers with the central heating on and a blanket and still not warm. My husband is walking round in a tee shirt and shorts and sweating profusely. I remember last time I was on steroids I was so hot and every visitor would be freezing. So bring on the blasted steroids.

in reply to GrandmaDylan

But Debs you can’t sleep now - what are you going to be like if you’re taking steroids as well.....hope you’ve got lots of sheep, or you could just keep whistling to them so they go round and round in a circle.

Hey that sounds like a good sleep aid, hmm I might just patent it...

Please use a stick if you go out walking. My hubby broke a rib 2 weeks after his transplant.

Hi, yes, I definitely use a stick when walking and for up and down stairs. When I have finished free falling and diving and breaking my spine and I am fully recovered I shall have a stick shelving ceremony and then start trying to build my muscular strength back up. Can't wait !! Alf
