Been a month when I felt too much sleep than normal then I saw my eyes yellow hint

All I did wrong in my life that I drunk vodka absolut and jim beam whiskey for last three months, I'm not drunker. Then I went to have LFT I found my total bilirubin 1.8 indirect is 1.1 direct is 0.7 with normal ast, alt and apt

The question is am I sick or jaundice ptn ??

Do I still have a chance to recover and to be normal ?

Your eyes don’t look that bad and you look young. Stop drinking. My guess is yes you more than likely can recover!

Yes. Stop drinking and any damage it may have caused to your liver can be reversed. Look after your liver and it will look after you. So adopt a healthy diet and lifestyle get rid of the vodka and you can live a long happy life 😀

So you assure me that I'm normal guy I'm 26 yo this November, I get vow on myself that I'll not taste alcohol anymore cuz I'm depressed really

If you stop drinking your depression will subside. Alcohol itself is a depressant and causes more problems than it causes so don't kid yourself it will make you feel better, the truth is it most certainly will not

I swear I've been a month without even taste it, but I wish I could recover as fast as possible

You are recovering as quickly as possible just not recovering as quickly as you like. Be patient, you will get there, just don't get tempted to start drinking again. Each time you throw drink at your liver it will take longer to heal when you abstain until it won't repair at all, the you will be in big trouble.

Enjoy being booze free, life's far more enjoyable 😎🤩

When I was diagnosed some 4 years ago, I was already trying to cut down on the booze as I’d been told just stopping might cause problems (and I was dreading it because I drank to cope with other things) but finding out I really was killing myself frightened the proverbial out of me and I just stopped overnight and haven’t touched a drop since. Sadly, I left it too late and I’m now having to think about a transplant. But at your age your liver should regenerate. So stop. And it’ll save you a fortune too!

Hi

I am the one with cirrhosis but my husband was given an me I a couple of years back. His results showed drink had affected him but not too bad. He was told no alcohol and better diet for 6 months and it would reverse. In his case it did, completely. He drink and I get the problems ... the things I do for that man 🙄

I'm not saying it's exactly the same for you because only your doctors can say that. I'm just giving it as an example of what can be achieved and the minimum timescale.

Well done in the sober month. You say you weren't a drinker but those are strong spirits you mention. I'm not surprised your liver is giving you a wake up call, I would lol.

Old chestnut .... try not to worry. Yes there is a hint of yellow around the outside if your eyes which could be a sign of inflammation of the liver. Mine don't look that you clear on a really good day anymore. 😑

Let us know how you get on - we're with you all the way

If you feel depressed you must see your GP. Alcohol blots things out but is a depressant so its a vicious and dangerous circle. Because drinking is socially acceptable often people hide behind it, The stigma of depression and mental health problems is improving but it needs a lot more people to stop judging and realise they have a 1 in 4 chance of being affected at some time in their life. In a circle of family and friends of 20, 5 of them are likely to be affected. Any one who suffers from depression can have their lives turned around, there is absolutely no shame , its a chemical in balance in the brain. Just as people are low on insulin get diabetes. Hazel
