I typically get some difficult anxiety around Sunday evenings before work. I was hoping they would not pop up but they have. Coupled with my anxiety over liver disease today is going to be exceedingly difficult. I have an anti anxiety prescription, but don’t want to take too many too frequently, even if it is within the dosages prescribed. Just don’t want to deal with addiction problems down the line. Does anyone have suggestions on coping strategies for anxiety? I am trying to not dwell and live in my the present and not the past, but boy is it a challenge. Hopefully with time and healing this anxiety will regress, it is the most challenging thing I dealing with now. Completely sysmptom free and feel better than I have in a while... Thanks in advance for any suggestions, it is appreciated.

Can I ask what your job is that causes you such anxiety ?

I work in local government as a department head. I have always gotten anxiety about the upcoming week for some reason. I think I have a problem with anxiety in general.

If its your job which tends to be the main cause, is it possible to be transferred to a less stressful position? I'd rather change my job than start taking medication to treat the stress and anxiety it causes. My health would be more important than a stressful job.

Unfortunately no ability to transfer, but have been looking into a job change. The stress and anxiety led to self medicating and coping, really need to find things that are less stressful and lead to a more positive experiences.
