Good evening everyone. Very new to this virtual world of chatting ! Feel odd. Noone to look in the eyes to get comfort from no reassuring hand on mine. It feels so lonely.
After almost 10 years feeling poorly and 2 years on the waiting list, i have been blessed with a liver transplant , 16 weeks ago now. So why do i feel so sad.

Hello Laura. It would take so long to tell my story and some of it probably too painful at the moment to recall. But thanking for caring, it’s really sweet. Hope YOU are ok , healthy and happy. X
Hey.i know nothing about transplant in particular, but i do know your body is changing and adjusting to a new lease of life.
Its very normal to feel low or depressed after surgery and probably even more so with a transplant.all kinds of emotions running wild.have you been offered support and councilling of any kind with the transplant? I imagine it to be a pretty massive ordeal, both physically and mentally.i dont know how it works, but would suggest seeing your gp asap.
I had my transplant about 13 months ago in France. My emotions were a bit up and down for a while. First you were feeling ill, probably wondered if you would live to have a tx. Then you had it. You are probably feeling better than for the last ten years. That’s a big change and then you realize someone had to die for you to feel so good. That’s a lot. Some of us here are transplantees and although we say it’s wonderful there are times when we are humbled by the immense gift we have been given - and which we feel a duty to live up to. That sometimes can feel a big responsibility. Pls send me a personal message if you like
Thats exactly how i feel! Im 19mths post tx. I think its a bereavement process we all go thro at different times. Take time, remember your health is what matters.
Perfectly normal my emotions were all over the place after transplant. You've been through a lot plus the medication especially steriods don't help emotions wise. It is a life changing experience even if you are well afterwards.
