I knew when I was laying in intensive care nearly 10 months ago confused, hurting, not sure what the future would hold that I needed to get better and strong enough to give something back to my amazing hospital that saved my life.

Last Sunday, along with my 5 closest friends, we successfully walked 8 of the London Bridges criss crossing from one to another to raise money for the Royal Free Charity. I’m so proud that after lots of walking to build myself up, we completed our challenge. We managed to raise nearly Β£1900 for the massage therapy department at the hospital which hold a special place in my heart.

You have to be clinically referred for specialist massages in hospital and I truly believed these massages which manipulated my very swollen legs helped me walk again.

We also shook some buckets and raised an additional Β£124.85 which has been donated to the PBC Foundation as they really helped me 12years ago when I didn’t have support from GP or much understanding of this liver disease.

My legs ached for a couple of days and the hernia wasn’t too bad. Felt fantastic to be a able to give something back to help some really poorly patients.

Here is a pic of us on one of the bridges. I’m in the middle with the thumbs up πŸ‘πŸ»

Believe in positive mental attitude as I have gone from being ill and only having hours left to live to completing such a big challenge.

I think of my donor angel every single day and wake up each morning with such an appreciation for life πŸ’œ

Love to you all
