High liver enzymes and b12 levels in my blood

Hi all. I haven't been feeling well for a few months. Very run down, tired, nauseous, abdominal pain. Went to the doctors last week as had blood in my stool. Had results back yesterday and I have a high level of b12 (I don't take supplements) and high levels of liver enzymes in my blood. Next step ultrasound. I am freaking out. I have 3 little ones (aged 8, 6 and 4) and my husband is waiting for a kidney and pancreas transplant. My 6 year old, Ella is in remission from metastatic kidney cancer. Can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong with me? Thanks.

Not a dr do you should definitely wait for ultrasound results and talk to dr. Just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

As none of us are medically qualified and don't have your full test results in front of us it would be inappropriate for us to start 'guessing' what might be causing your symptoms and high enzyme levels there are a number of things which doctors might explore before they give a final diagnosis.

Fingers crossed you get some answers very soon, it's obviously a very worrying time for you and yours.

All the very best,

Katie

I once had a blood test that showed that I had a high B12 level. My doctor interpreted it as a sign of me being healthy when it wasn't. B12 is normally stored in the liver but if the liver is stressed then it spills out into the bloodstream. While waiting for the ultrasound I'd avoid alcohol, drugs other than prescribed medication, eat healthy & rest to allow your liver to settle down. You have more than enough on your plate to deal with so hopefully it will turn out to be temporary problem. All the best & good luck.

Hi

Did you get to the bottom of your blood test results? I’ve had high liver enzymes which have reduced with diet but my b12 is still high after a year.

Thanks,

Nicky
