Where are you in the world? Certainly centres in the UK demand a compliance with medical appointments and medicinal regimes prior to and after transplant - it's a pointless exercise giving the transplant in the first place if the patient doesn't follow up with the medical protocol afterwards.
I know in the UK the regular post transplant appointments involve taking blood tests and altering immune suppressant medication to suit any changes plus appointments for regular monitoring of the transplanted organ (as well as other possible things that can pop up due to the medicine).
If your partner has been non-compliant with the monitoring appointments it's possible the organ has failed due to this as medication wouldn't have been amended, changes identified etc. etc. Ok, the medical team have had to cancel some appointments this past year but how many did she not attend before that?
It's sad that your partner now finds herself in this situation but why on earth has she not been going to the appointments? By not attending the necessary appointments she has placed herself in this predicament. There may be some form of appeal to the t/p centre but bridges may have been burned there through the non-compliance - part of transplant assessment usually looks at the support networks post transplant and compliance with medical regime and your partner hasn't followed through with their side of the deal so to speak.

I was on the transplant list & they took me off it due to catching sepsis. They are still trying to decide if I should go bk on again.
I know how your partner feels.I'm 43 & had my transplant at 33.I don't drink, never have done.I was just unfortunate that I caught acute liver disease.
Tell her to keep talking until she at least gets answers & good luck.
