On Sunday I'm doing a sponsored bike ride, raising money for the Listen Lodges at Kings College Hospital.

I'm fit and ready to go, and I was thinking that if the rain and wind keep away I'm going to enjoy myself. But even if the Gods do conspire against me, it certainly won't be the first time, and this 50 miles was intended to be a kick in the balls back at them anyway. 3 years ago I was given months to live, but one transplant and 34 months later I'm going to enjoy every mile of that 50 miles whatever the weather 😁

Im currently lying on the sofa watching five adult babies cook pasta, whilst they drink wine at 10 o'clock in the morning..live on BBC.

I've been there. It's a terrible place to be, literally watching your life go bye. I spent my last summer before transplant on the sofa in a hoodie with the curtains closed. I felt like id litteraly run out of life.

But tomorrow I'm getting on my bike and looking forward to a 50 mile bike ride. Something 3 years ago I would have said was impossible.

It's not about get up and go, it's about being well enough to do it. And if there's a chance you can be fixed up, there's no reason not to believe that sometime you can do the same.

I actually feel fine, three months post transplant and doing ok. I just meant I admire people who are active like you are, marathons, epic bike rides etc. I have never been into actually doing sports however, other than motorsports. Speaking of which, I must get my backside off the sofa as I need to drive to the north of England shortly lol.

Hi rodeojoe. Fantastic ! such a great thing to be doing .I hope you enjoy every single second of it ! . So pleased to see how far you have come post transplant .I'm on no waiting list because my meld score is not high enough yet my ukeld says otherwise .mind you that was back in May and lots has changed since then . Memory wise and mobility .we will see what happens on Monday .
