Yellowish tinge to the eyes, but blood and ultrasound results are good.

Hi! I'm in my early 30s. Didn't drink any alcohol until 2 years ago. Started by drinking once per weekend. Later on twice or thrice per week, especially if I was stressed out. I recently noticed a yellowish tinge to the white of my eyes. I did blood tests. No hepatitis. Total bilirubin level is 1.04mg, which is just within normal levels (<1.20 mg). Direct bilirubin is also just within normal levels (0.3 mg, <0.5 mg). AST and ASL results were good, the AST to ASL ratio is 0.6. The ultrasound showed no problem with the liver, gallbladder or pancreas. No fatty liver either. The only problem was with the cholesterol.

Doctor says I'm fine, should only worry about the cholesterol. I've also cut back on drinking to back to once a week and plan on going back to no drinking.

But every time I look in the mirror I check my eyes, and they're a bit yellowish. It's getting on my nerves. What could it be? I plan on redoing the blood tests a few months from now.

Highly unlikely you have liver damage caused by alcohol...I agree with your gp. Just take a look at the diet if you're concerned about cholesterol.
