Me Again needing Advice.

HI All,

As I posted earlier Terry was having problems with his white blood count. After stopping MMF & retaking Prednisalone things are improving.

You can imagine then the shock we felt when St James rang on Tuesday to say they're not happy with last weeks bloods as his liver enzymes are still slightly high! This is the first we've heard of this.

They want him as an inpatient as soon as there's a bed available (did say it would be in next few days) to do a biopsy & further investigations.

Has anyone else on here come across anything like this ?

Terry's being quite laid back as he does actually look & feel better now than he's been for a couple of years. Me however......well after everything we've been through I just can't help but be a little worried.

Love to all. Hobo.xx

Hobo,

S

Sorry that Terry is having blood level problems and consequent medication juggling. It is totally understandable that you are worried.

Recently I also had sudden problems with my bloods. Admittedly, I had been feeling a definite lack of my usual energy. Then came a phone call out of the blue, it was my transplant centre. "we would like you to come in." This was followed by a month of weekly hospital visits. It seemed like such a backward step after just over a year of plain sailing since my transplant.

My medication was immediately increased but not changed. Within quite a short time all returned to normal and I'm back to four monthly appointments. Thankfully I avoided a hospital stay and the biopsy became unnecessary as I responded so well to the increased medication.

Also, there were recent posts from one of us on this community who, in similar circumstances required a brief hospital stay with med changes and a biopsy. They also reported a positive outcome.

Happily, you say Terry appears well and doesn't appear too worried, although I hope that's not just hiding his emotions, like a lot of men do.

I hope that this gives you encouragement.

Jim
