Have you got a contract? How long have you worked for them? And have you told them you are on the transplant list? And finally are you positive your fit enough to work especially if your on the list?

You shouldn't have any problems if they know your waiting and especially working for them for 9 years x

The sad truth is anyone can be sacked Jose1974, but with 9 years service behind you, what's the likelihood? Employers know it is hard to find good people and they will also know how hard you are working to stay in work.

The worst case is you are sacked and then have to sign on and apply for all the benefits you can - this may not be anywhere close to your current salary but it should keep the wolves away whilst you get better. Honestly ther isn't a lot you can do about it and as the saying goes 'act like a dog when faced with difficult choices - if you can't eat it or chew it p in it'!

Best of luck hun x

Can you register as disabled? Then you would have improved rights?

Very sadly, they can sack you but would need to ensure they follow proper procedure. I was sacked from a job after 8 weeks sickness absence despite medical reports from my GP and my employers occupational health doctor. I had a contract but this was washed aside and they used the excuse of the impact the absence had on their operations. I ended up having to take them to an industrial tribunal to reach a settlement. Not what I needed when battling an illness. Not all employers are the same and hopefully yours are accommodating and understanding. Just remember your health is more important than anything and there is light at the end of the tunnel. 9 years on, i'm doing fine. Good luck.
