I think this might be a question for a different group, but does anyone know what EGFR readings are? I've got a feeling it has something to do with the kidneys.
I went to an appointment at the OE, last Friday for an diabetes appointment. My diabetes has gotten a lot better since my transplant. But it would appear from a letter from the consultant back to my GP, that the results from the blood test showed that my EGFR levels were greater than 90. I haven't a clue what this means.
Hi, it means Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate. To do with the kidneys I believe.
If your eGRF is 90+ thats amazingly good, the higher the better. Its a calculation to see how well your kidneys are functioning. Not many have 100% function so yours is amazing. Mine run at below 60% (due to medication and age).
