EU Travel regulations for Meds.

Hi All,

Hope everyone well or as well as can be expected. Terry is doing great so far, in fact he's planning a weekend golfing trip to Portugal next month.

Just wondering if anyone can confirm the regulations for his anti-rejection meds. Does he need a letter from his doctor & can he take the meds in his hand luggage?

Would hate to get things wrong & he can't go as he's really looking forward to it.

Xx

Hi, I have within the last six months retired from working at an airport. If you are taking any meds as long as you have a doctor's note they will be ok. Carry them in your hand luggage , just in case your luggage goes missing. If you are carrying oxygen you must clear this with the airline. Enjoy your holiday.

Thanks Brummi. Does it have to be a doctors note or will a prescription suffice ? Unfortunately I am not going but will look forward to a rest from nursing. Haha.

Hi, a doctor's note is preferable but also keep the little stickers on the boxes as they indicate prescription issued meds. As said keep them in your hand luggage, a lot of people put them in their main luggage and have delayed flights because all of a sudden they realise they need them.

i can only repeat brummi good advice. a recent prescription counterfoil, all pills in original blister packs and boxes with matching address labels , and all in hand luggage

to prove they are specifically all for you.

and take some extra [7days] just in case

enjoy the peace h0b0

Also - a bit obvious, I know - but do make sure that all Travel Insurance is fully up-to-date and covers all - and any - recent changes, developments, medical checks and procedures, plus any medication changes.

Hope he has a good time.

Thanks. Struggling at the moment to get insurance cover. The company we used in 2015 when he was diagnosed with cirrhosis say they can't cover him now.

Is hubby over 50? because a lot of folks seem to be recommending Staysure and their adverts certainly make out they cover all pre-existing medical conditions etc.

Absolutely amazed and delighted he is feeling fit enough to go a foreign golfing holiday. It's brilliant. So glad for you both that he's recovering well.

Katie :) xx

Thanks Katie. It's a little surreal really isn't it.? This time last year he was so ill & everything was doom & gloom. He is very well indeed at the moment but we take nothing for granted & still take it 1 day at a time.

I will check the Staysure website & see what I can find.

All the best to you & yours.xx

Hi,

2 months out from TP & look forward to swinging a golf club again. Very jel. Seems a a long way off at present! When did Terry have his op?

Kings recommend taking a double set of meds, 1 in hand luggage & 1 in hold.

Your mail has cheered me up with the prospect of golf in the sun in the future. I think my wife would rather like a few days break too!

Thanks
