So as some of you know I am doing monthly challenges whilst on the liver transplant list, Decembers challenge was attending the British indoor rowing championships at the Olympic velodrome. I set myself self the target of rowing the 2k in 8:00 mins, a time pre listing that would have been fairly easy, the fastest I had gone in training was 8:24 and I had a rubbish week, felt a bit under the weather all week, but I wanted to give it my best. I knew what I had to do so I dug in deep and pulled it off with a 7:59. I've started do the events in my pink tutu as I find people find it easy to start talking to me, they tend to all say they thought I didn't look right so the tutu works as my ice breaker.
I am totalled shattered and probably pushed a bit hard today with all the travelling as well but I feel amazing having achieved something that I thought I wouldn't even be able to enter 6 months ago.
Although I don't suggest all rushing out to jump on a rowing machine, anything you can do to help your health and fitness is going to help.
Stay well out there guys.
