Since a week my father is feeling a burning sensation while urination. What may be the cause? His doctor prescribed him tab: ciproxin 250mg twice a day for a week.

Ciproflaxin is prescribed for bacterial infections, commonly used for urine infections. Probably being used to treat a urine infection in this case. Complete the course, wait a few days, then re test the urine to check it is clear of bacteria. Drink plenty of water to keep the kidneys flushing through.

I see you have been posting on a couple of forums within HealthUnlocked and received conflicting advice, particularly different advice over types of anaemia and their appropriate treatment.

I sense your anxiety and all these different questions you have spinning around in your head. I'm not sure if we are getting the full picture (sometimes in the post its you as the patient and sometimes its a father).

I think it might be wise to be guided by the doctors who are currently looking after the patient, whether it is a father or whether it is you. Apart from the vitamins and supplements which are not things UK doctors commonly prescribe for liver patients, it sounds like all the medicines the doctors have so far prescribed for the patient have been what one would expect.

We really dont want to give the wrong advice based on partial information and find we have made the situation worse.

Good luck 😊

Thanks, I am asking this for my father. I'd better mention it next time.

That's what I thought, it's just on other forums such as the pernicious anaemia one the posts were as if from you as the patient. For example: "but I often feel tired like when climb stair or lift some weight. I am a liver cirrhosis patient".

I'm confused.
