Hi I have been reading through the posts on here today and I am so inspired by the families that have been in it with us from the beginning. I am out on my own really with this. If I say anything to my husband he just says ' don't keep going on about it because I can't do anything about it' yeah I don't have much support at home so I have stopped talking about it. I just get on with it and when I want to sleep I just sleep and if they say anything to me I just say get lost, leave me to it.

I have found enough inspiration and strength on here today to last a lifetime lol, its so nice to see so many wonderful stories.

Take care xx

Hi conniefused, I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering alone. Its awful you don't have good support. I don't know how I'd manage without my husband, he is my world. I'm lucky I know, he does have some difficulty understanding what all the implications of liver disease mean. So I sent him links of relevant pages from the BLT, and it helped him to understand some of the problems I have. Maybe this is a problem for your partner, if he doesn't fully understand what'd going on?? Maybe that could help.

If you still don't get the support you need, keep coming back here and I'm sure people will offer their sympathy/ empathy.

Wishing you well,

Take care

E

hi there i'm so glad that you have turn around and said what you did, my i say i'm proud of you for sticking up for yourself and being your own person, what got me is what your husband said more like he can't be bothered to do anything. it makes me wonder why lovely people like you have to put up with so much crap, you deserve better than that take care i'm with you 100% on what you said well done. You keep your head up,he sounds a bit like me-I think it's a 'man thing'-bury your head in the sand- it might go away, but it won't of course,I know its not the same as having physical,'real' support, but there's as much,or as little support as you want on this forum, its a good bunch of people.Andy X.

Hi obviously we dont know him but I'm with cityman on this...could be a man thing ...not much empathy.....I'm afraid im n this camp although I'm OK on websites.....doesn't help you much though but if we can help....best.

Oh conniefused 😢😢😢 that's sad to hear 😘😘😘😘 I am going to be controversial 😂😂😂😂 it's a man thing (as said before) -

Men in general don't tend to be overly sympathetic 😂😂 perhaps you are doing the right thing by closing yourself off to them xxx it doesn't help you much but gives you some peace and quiet - I often find (being a naughty female) that if you don't say anything about anything they then become intrigued 😅😅 I am sure they just don't know how to handle the fact that your not well 😢😢😢 perhaps next time you go to the hospital - ask for some leaflets on liver disease etc and leave them lying around ??? They could then read them when your not looking and see exactly what your going through 😘😘😘😘 just an idea ❤️❤️❤️ we are all here to help in any way we can ❤️❤️❤️ hugs xxxxx

Ah my heart breaks for you, everyone needs someone to care and be interested. Liver disease can be a very lonely place, only you feel the twinges that worry you and feel the worry of what's ahead. But it helps to have support like the wonderful compassionate people on this site. I've spent many a lonely hour getting great comfort and information and I'm truly grateful. So view us as your virtual family and we do care.

Hugs to you.

I get accused of this attitude, and after my other half virtually saved my life by keeping me positive when I was really ill. It's certainly not that I don't care or lack of empathy but a frustration that it's out of my control. It's really is frustrating when someone is suffering and there is nothing you can physically do to help.

It certainly isn't that I don't care.

hi there bryan many thanks will have a look i'm Alan its nice to meet you

Hi guys thanks for the support yeah pretty much what I think it being a man thing lol I have an appointment with specialist on 2nd February and I have so many questions. My scan shows enlarged bile duct and I have questions as to why also, I have been doing some research and have found that there is a problem with acid bile in some cases after gallbladder has been removed. Excellent news regarding liver, according to scan my liver looks normal I am pleased about that. Take care all of you xx
