I have been suffering with jaundice for over 2 months.

Does anyone have any tips on how to control or rid sooner?

Is there any specific meds that tackle the jaundice?

Do they know what's causing the jaundice? I would think once they know what's causing it they will hopefully be able to help you.

I'm sorry to hear this. Hopefully someone will be able to answer your question. Does it come on suddenly?

It was a complete shock really snuck up on me as doctors thought heart and lungs were route of medical problems

Ask your doctor what the cause of the cirrhosis is, and then tackle the cause. Jaundice won't go until you find out what is damaging your liver. It could be alcohol or diet or medication or viral hepatitis or any number of other liver diseases.

Alicja_mb, you are the young lady with HHT arn't you?

Have you got cirrhosis as well? I thought from reading a little about HHT, the condition affects the blood vessels in various organs as I have read and in your case may be affecting the liver (& heart and lungs possibly).

Have you got cirrhosis or is it the HHT causing blockages in your liver which are then obviously causing biliary problems? Blockages in bile ducts within the liver leads to the increase in bilirubin and therefore the jaundice - are you also experiencing the mad itching which can accompany the yellowing? - in another condition called Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) patients are sometimes given Ursodeoxycholic acid as a medication to counteract bilirubin build up.

Without knowing more than the internet tells me about HHT I would not want to offer loads of advice other than you obviously need that referral to Newcastle a.s.a.p. because your condition is obviously having a detrimental affect on your liver just now.

Wishing you all the very best,

Katie xx

Yep I have HHT, no drugs touched and I don't drink.

The scarring on my liver occurred in pregnancy and I had an emergency c section. I have terrible memory loss when I get the confusion, does anyone else get that?

It's another 2 weeks until my appointment with the heptologist.

No itching per say but skin looks terrible from the 4 stone of fluid drained.

Well here's a charming picture of my eyes, does this look bad?

You look beautiful. Your blood results, in particular your bilirubin levels are a better guide to jaundice than the colour of your eyes and skin. Yes they do have a yellowish tinge, but you already know you are a very sick young lady.

My eyes were extremely yellow ....my bilirubin was at 67 though! My cirrhosis is self inflicted through alcohol though and I feel so sorry for you having got it through no fault of your own :( .....I hope you get some effective treatment and feel much better soon xx

Just put me down :( now temperature through the roof and chest infection. Feel sorry for myself and can't even sleep it off as back so damaged from being hospitalised so long. Hope anti biotics kick in soon.

Think my bilirubin on on last check was 60. Still got to wait 2 weeks for heptologist appointment and hopefully they'll start testing me for transplant.

At first I was scared but since coming home after 2 months in hospital I never realised how weak I am and I am not the same person I would welcome and be grateful for any cure.

Even if liver disease is self inflicted I can imagine it's still a shock, how are you doing now?
