What effect does the taking of neoral have on kidney function.

I had a liver transplant nearly one year ago. Since then my dose of neoral has been reduced steadily from 250 mgm twice per day to around 75-100 mg. This indicates how well my new liver is working. However my kidney function is slightly diminished and I wonder if anyone out there can give me information on similar experiences and what steps were taken.
