Oh well. ..was hoping to find someone to meet up with! Have you been diagnosed long? How are you getting on?

I was diagnosed in 2009. I am on Azathioprine 100mg and Prednisolone 5mg. My blood tests are ok apart from Anaemia which apparently is very common in AIH. feel shattered all of the time. How are you and when were you diagnosed?

Hi I was only diagnosed a month ago. I'm on 25mg prednisolone andd hopefully starting azathioprine tomorrow when I'm seen in clinic. Im improving all the time and lfts were just over 100 last week. They had been 1800 4 weeks ago. At least I'm no longer jaundice and can get out of bed!

I am glad that you are improving. Good luck at the clinic, I hope all goes well.

Clinic positive.Bloods down to 82. prednisolone reduced by 5mg to 20mg from tomorrow, and to commence azathioprine 50mg tomorrow. Bit anxious about next stage (side effects) but it has to happen and will hopefully keep the improvement going. Am managing to stay pretty positive I think...........getting a bit fed up with the weekly bloods/bruising though!! Did you have much problem starting azathioprine?

I was expecting to have probs with the Azathioprine after I read up about it but fortunately I haven't had any. Just minor probs like nausea and dizziness but if I make sure I eat well before I take them I am ok. I am now on 3 monthly blood tests which isn't too bad.

There is a really good online support group here autoimmunehepatitis.co.uk/. If you join that (it will have more members with AIH than here), then ask about geographical area. Good luck
