First run in 6 months

Hi all,

Before winter, I was 'running' for 40 minutes following the Bridge to 10K. I'm starting again after about 5 months, because I struggle to stay motivated during winter. I'm looking forward to starting again! Then it'll be onto 45 minutes!

Winter is often tough and many people switch into “ticking over” mode! It sounds like your return to regular running has come at a good time with the sunshine!

I had an interesting conversation with my physio about post-winter running. As well as building up the runs, it’s really important to build up your strength because unless you’ve been doing that over the winter, your resistance to getting injured will be lower. You don’t want an injury as soon as you restart!

Have you got a specific plan you’re going to follow?

Really good luck to you! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

yea I did the exact same. Started running again a few weeks ago and am glad to be back. I love running early (5:30). So winter running in the dark just doesn’t have the same feel. Keep pushing. Can’t wait to hear how long it takes for you to get to 45min. Maybe quicker than u think!!!
