BUPA 10mile programme Beginner - week 10!

Ahh so many good things happened!

First of all, finally my post covid jab tiredness is totally gone, so does not affect my running anymore.

Secondly - yesterday I did my longest run so far 😁 yeeeeeey

Run1 40mins Interval Running - I was still slightly sore and tired, but I went out and did 5.94k! 5mins warm up jog, then 12x 30sec/2min Intervals, then 5 mins cool down jog. It was quite nice I must say, but I felt sore legs for 3 days after. Am I mad if I actually enjoy Intervals?

Run2 50min Easy pace run and I managed 7.2k, legs were still sore, so I took it very steady and treated this run more like a massage for tired legs than anything.

And finally....

Run3 yesterday - 8 miles!!!! (12.87k) sooooo soooo happy!!! I loved it! I was very anxious prior to run and was worried if I will be able to run that far without stop. Luckily my legs were well rested and up for a challenge. The route I chose took me uphill for the first 4k - constant gradual uphill with a few flat bits. It wasn't easy, but I powered through, keeping in mind that after that initial uphill, I will have rest of the way either flat or downhill. It was a good plan, because after 9k I was already looking at Garmin to check how much longer πŸ₯΅.

I have no idea how it happened, but the last 1.5k I felt energy blast (maybe because I knew I am almost at home) and I ran fast ( 5:50/km which is fast for me).

I cannot say how proud I was of myself and how happy it made me to see that I actually outdone myself! 8 miles 🀯 wow seriously my mind is blown. I am amazed that my body can do it.

It feels fantastic to go beyond one's perceived limits. Unbelievable!

Hope everyone's week was good and full of running!

Wow! Well done πŸ₯³ πŸ‘πŸ» πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» That was a great split too. I love intervals. I think it brings out the child in me but gives the middle aged woman in me a rest as well πŸ˜‚Your 10 mile goal is in sight!

I like splits too, you know it's going to stop soon! Do you run fast for 30 and jog fir 2" or the other way round?

What a great report! 3 runs for the price of 1, brilliant 🀩. You are so near that 10 miles, it’s one of my favourite distances (well, once I’ve done it and got my feet up after πŸ˜‚). A great plan to do the first 4k uphill, and a very atmospheric photo. Well done πŸ‘.

Well I’ve managed 2 HMs but I’m not going to lie, they hurt, especially the 2nd one - I wasn’t ready for it. At the moment I’m trying to do a fair few hills but life seems to be getting in the way a bit what with work, booster, antibiotics for a tooth etc! Will just keep plodding along 🀣.
