To Hell's Mouth and Back - Again

That kind of sums up the last 6 months or so for me, though I think I'm still within its jaws...

Last year, almost to the day, I did my first holiday run from where we were staying to the beach at Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) and back. It was wonderful.

We're back in the same area again. It was the Abersoch 10k this morning. If I had known I would have been sorely tempted. But I'm so glad I didn't sign up. Despite the relief following my osteopathy appointment, I doubt I could even have walked it right now, and definitely not within the 1hour 45 minute cutoff.

This evening the weather finally cleared by early evening, so I opted for a slow stroll, to Hell's Mouth and Back, following my run route of a year ago.

This place is magical, and I enjoyed walking in the tranquil surroundings, with fond memories of my holiday run last year.

I reached the beach and the heavens opened again. How typical!

I turn and head back to the cottage where we are staying. The rain stops and a beautiful double rainbow appears in the sky above Llanengan. Hopefully a sign of better things to come in the weeks and months ahead.

Good luck to anyone who is running the London Marathon tomorrow - physically or virtually.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and may your next run be joyous, long or short, fast or slow, and whenever and wherever it may be.

It's a lovely part of the world. I ran my (not) parkrun the other side of Mynydd Rhiw on the roads of the north coast three weeks ago.

Parkrun in Pwllheli is still suspended.

Yes it is Paul. I'm still crossing my fingers and everything else for a short run here before the end of the week. If I can't I'll aim to walk the 5k route from here to Porth Neigwl, towards Llangian and back

If I were over there this weekend, I'd be suggesting a brief meet up for a chat and walk or jog.

This afternoon might be better for the weather.

That would have been nice but I think your jogging pace is more like my sprinting. 🙂Had a good mooch about at Plas Yn Rhiw this afternoon. Windy but lovely in the sun.

The heavens opened to wash the world clean to start afresh and the rainbow showed to offer hope. Your way with words is lovely and takes us with you, whether on a run a walk or towards those jaws. you are beautiful inside and out which influences your choice of photos to share,

Thank you and hope you are soon fully fit to be able to run

Your photos are wonderful, you just need to look at the skies to read the weather, gorgeous light on the clouds. I know your frustration of planning holiday runs and then finally when you get away not being in a fit state to do them, but it does mean you'll have to have another holiday there so you can re run the route.

I do hope that the rainbow is a sign of better things to come for you x
