No more running for me for a while!

After a very hit and miss time only running sporadically because of the weather I was finally getting back into the swing of running every other day.

Was taking it easy, running 25 - 30 mins and planning on building on this each week. I was feeling really happy to be back outside. I could feel my fitness had dropped a bit but was so pleased that I could still run for that long without feeling exhausted at the end of it. I was so looking forward to building up my stamina, duration and distance again.

Then this weekend....disaster! I was helping my other half take apart some fitted furniture in the bedroom, when the side of one of the wardrobes fell on my right big toe!! Ouch!

I'm now sporting a bandage and a beautiful swollen black and red toe. Fortunately it doesn't appear to be broken but I can't walk on it properly, let alone run! So annoyed at my carelessness!....does anyone know how long the healing process is for something like this? I'm praying it's not long as I hate being incapacitated.

Sympathies from me. I fractured my little rh toe by stubbing it on my bed whilst rushing about. I decided to rest for about two weeks and during this time to keep up fitness plussed up my cycling - then fell off and caused worse damage😱. Anyway, after about 2 weeks my toe certainly felt better shame about the rest!! Hopefully it won’t keep you off too long, especially as the weather seems to be taking a better turn. Good luck.👍

Thank you so much Hareshaw-Granny, that's encouraging to hear.

Rushing about is one of my worst traits and probably why the accident happened in the first place. I will certainly find some other fitness routine to do whilst the toe heals. Good to know that in about 2 weeks time there will, hopefully be some improvement.

Thank you so much for coming back to me.
