It’s been a while, but my desire to run has not waned in my busyness! I’m seriously frustrated by the imbalance in my routines, but I’m taking the bull by the horns and pressing reset...(once again! 😳)! Maybe the ‘bull by the horns’ would be a little bit of an overstatement, it’s more like baby steps! Because a few steps will build onto more steps! 🤞🏽 Well...at least that’s the plan 😉.
I have absolutely no idea where I am on LEJOG, but I’ve been crawling forward with my few steps each day.
So, I’ll treat myself to what I hope to be an inspiring update on New Years Day! 🇬🇧 💪🏽!
So...I’m doing a bit of a winter hokey pokey running technique, (🥴 not sure you can describe it as a ‘technique’...but I’m trying my best 🤷🏽♀️! I’m not giving up either! So...Sgt Major Garmin and I have started a new 5k plan today and you know he’ll be keeping a close eye on me 🏃🏽♀️ 👀💂♀️!!
I hope you’re all enjoying your winter runs! I have missed catching up. Time constraints means I’ll probably just do a weekly check in, but that will do! 😁
Wishing you all happy running Runners!! Best wishes for 2021 too! ❤️

Good to have you back Fab450 I just take things o W day at a time at the moment hopefully in 2021 we’ll all feel like we’re getting back to normal and our busyness will abate. Stay safe and happy running 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️☃️☃️❄️❄️
Ah thanks so much Scruff55! 🤗 You know when I’m away from VRBs, I feel like it’s me just not being able to get it together. It does help to hear how others are getting through this! Happy running to you too!! 😁❤️
Great to hear from you Fabulous 🤗. We all need to take stock and press reset once in a while. Glad that Sgt Major Garmin has stuck by you and has a new plan to start the New Year 😊
Hey Delly-Dot!! 🤩🤩 How are you? Thanks so much. Sgt Major has cut me some slack 😉! I reminded myself that a little is better than nothing and I was back out today too. 😁
It wasn’t an easy run though. I enjoyed it, but I think my experience now tells me I’m dehydrated and stiff from sitting in front of a screen for so many long hours. Hark at me....👀...coaching myself! 😂
I’m not normally one for early finishes at work or early nights to bed, but the start to my new year is all about self-care, so I’ll be upping the water volume and extending my hours in bed...doing absolutely nothing! It’s going to be a bit testing, but it’s got to be done!! 🤣❤️
We're reading each other posts at the same time! 🤗 Glad you are taking time for you. I'm pressing reset too and doing Adriene's 30 day yoga amongst other things is part of my time for me. xx
I think that’s fantastic Delly-dot! 🤗 I’ve just seen it, but I don’t think I can add to the mission just yet. But I’m all for the me time!!....Yes Delly-dot, you go for it! 🤩🤩❤️
Hi Fab! Sounds like you’re found more than some, less than others but most importantly- what you can. I, on the other hand got a new garmin 45 at the end of November and by early December I’d ground to a halt. Washed my kit and hung it in the wardrobe rather than outside ready to use. 🤷♀️ Still trying to work out why. Also Lejog has been neglected for weeks. Getting out for walks but it’s not the same. Wallow over - I’ll get over it (whatever it is!) eventually. Until then we should all look forward to pressing reset for a better 2021. Happy new year to you.
Happy New Year!! 🤩 I was well and truly grounded too! I don’t think I can say I’m in the right gear yet, but my second run of the new programme is complete! ✅
I am notably stiff as a board (aka dehydrated) and I’ve spent the whole afternoon nodding off while I catch up on LEJOG entries. That was a bit painful too! 😂! Didn’t think it would ever finish!!
But it is 2021 Sybilw and we can certainly get our new year vibe on! I’m ready to just go slow, as long as I go! I missed the fresh air and light! So
I’m committing to finishing work at a reasonable time ⏰ and going to bed 🛌 super early too. Oh and drink a lot more water!! 💦 Just a few bits then! 😂
Oh fabulous to hear from you! Yes, kick that Major Garmin into gear! 🤣 And yes, one run at a time! (And on LEJOG, I’m sure you’ll still be way ahead of me, as I’m gasping at the back 🤣👍🏽👏)
Hi CBDB!! Thanks so much!! 🤗 Still now quite in flow, but I have caught up on my LEJOG updates. Boy...that took me so long, it was a bit painful!! 🥴...😂
My running fuel is not quite there yet. I need more water and rest, but I’ll keep going! Glad to see you’re doing as brilliantly as always!! ✨✨🤩!! Keep on being brilliant!! Enjoy!! ❤️
🥰 awwwhhh , you’re doing brilliantly. And a very happy new year 🥳! At the moment I’m also sitting out, too icy 🥶 where I am, and am hoping that I’m not losing too much fitness!
We’ll see.
Wish you lots of strengths, flexibility, time for runs and stay well and sane! And, yes, let’s drink more water 💧 💦 !!! Always a good idea!
Absolutely CBDB!! 🤗 I’ve just seen your post for Yoga!! That’s brilliant!! 🤩 I would join you, but I need to pace myself and build up for now! It sounds brilliant though. Enjoy!! 🤩🤩❤️
Happy New Year BTP!! 🤗🤗 I feel a little like The Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz this afternoon. Stiff! 😂, but I’ll hydrate well before I’m back out on Tuesday. Glad to have made run number 2. I did give it some thought! 😂😂❤️
Thanks so much Grannyhugs!! 🤗 It’s a bit of a got to make it happen mission to be honest. Taking care of yourself is something only I can prioritise. So it’s all about adjustments in 2021! 😁❤️
Lovely post and I'm completely with you with the upset routines playing havoc. It sounds like you've found a system that works for you though and you won't let it stop you. All the best for 2021 too and happy running! 🙂
Thanks so much GTFC!! 🤗 You’re always there with great encouragement! Thanks so much! 🤩 I’m taking rest and balance as part of the progress too. I noticed that whilst I ran fairly easily today for run number 2, I do feel quite achey!
Two days of recovery and lots of water should hopefully put a bit more glide in my stride! 😁😁❤️
Hey you...you're doing great. You are ace! We all feel it but I'll say it. You've had a really busy and demanding few months and your new job has taken a lot out of you. You are still here and still going. You know what I've learned is that running can easily be overcomplicated. If you can run because you want to and you enjoy it then brilliant. If you then want to reach this time or that distance then brilliant too but surely the end goal is to run because we love it and we can? No pressure, just a release knowing it benefits us so much. Just be you and keep going. I'm leaving the forum so this is my last comment. Know your value, know you're enough and keep going when you can. The more consistent you are the easier it is. Best wishes going forwards 😊
Ah thanks so much for such inspiring words! 🤗 I really do appreciate it so much! I shall keep reminding myself as run for fun has always been my guiding light. It’s more the work that needs to be a lot more balanced. Trying to do it all, doesn’t really turn out well!
I’m very grateful and honoured to be the recipient of your last post!! Thank you! 🤗🤗✨✨❤️
You're not alone - in fact I've slipped even further not having run for about 7 weeks. 🤕 But I've started walking every day and aim to start running on Monday when hopefully the ice wiĺl be gone. We'll be back Fab - demanding jobs are exhausting and sometimes we have to cut ourselves some slack. Good luck with the new plan!
