Good morning runners, I’ve been so impressed with all the Christmas map art I was determined to have a go myself
Having not run since 4th December I expected to run on fresh legs today, not so for me but Willow was awesome, we warmed up with a walk then gentle jog then I went faster, left Willow behind, my legs were heavy so I soon slowed down, Willow passed me and his first k was 7.52 a record for him and impressive, mine came in at 9.15 and I just couldn’t go any faster, I passed lots of dogs and their walkers who were all very encouraging, but I didn’t have a clue where Willow was
Wanted to have a go at map art so peeled off the track to run the shape of a Christmas tree, then on round the track and thought that was easy let’s do a present, so onto the grass again.....
The lower centre of our track slopes up all the way round then down into a bowl so I ran a tree bauble, then went looking for Willow, eventually found him sitting in the car grinning
“25 minutes 3 k fastest ever” he grinned as I got in red faced, hot and hoodie had come off ages ago, trip to bank for work then deliver cash to work and home
Having had a very slow run I excitedly opened the app on my phone to see my art...... 😂 😆 😝
The main is the track, the top left is my christmas tree the top right is my present.... the round at the bottom is my bauble .... looks a bit like a cat with a bunny tail..... obviously didn’t make them big enough 😂
Now I’ve posted it, it doesn’t even look like a cat
Happy running everyone as we head towards a very strange and quieter Christmas

It looks like a great bell especially with the location marker as the ringer. Just claim it! Well done for trying it. I’ve got mine planned and am just waiting for the time to do it.
Time is our enemy isn’t it, I never thought of a bell, I might have another go, that run was slow but it felt so good to be out again Good luck with yours
Great run for you today W&S, to me that map looks like a Grand Prix Racing track somewhere in world and even a little like the outline of the UK, I would say the best Map Art was by Grannyhugs, may I wish you both a very Happy Christmas 🤶 🎄.
Depending how I hold my Smartphone, at certain angles there is a bell shape, the part below the 1 is Devon and Cornwall, the corner of the Bell, Wales, the 2 is about where Blackpool is, there is a yellow triangle at the top of the Bell, that represents the North of Scotland, the 3 is around Scarborough on the east coast of England, then down to the other corner of the Bell round the south coast of England, the red marker around Portsmouth, then down to Land's End,
Well done! I’m also seeing a beautiful giant bell... reading it as transparent (like some decorations on Xmas trees) with the green circle of the summit as the clapper. 🔔
You absolutely must be right, I’ll claim the bell, I’m so looking forward to my 5 days off so we can go out every morning and either run or walk, after keep thinking Christmas is next week for the last week I’m now really excited about it being very soon and have just sewn up the last of 3 cardigans for toddlers for Christmas, the news scares me but everything else is fine Keep well keep safe and run strong Dexy
You two have a lovely time too. Off for a run with the motley crew again tomorrow so a take away coffee will follow and social distanced seats in the rain shelter I think.
I can definitely see what people mean about a bell. But it does look rather like a map of the UK. 😁 Your cat's tail is Devon/CornwallA good run though - even if you say it was slow for you. And PB for Willow. Way to go both!
Yes, I’ve thought that before, it’s a cycle track for special needs cycles which is very rarely used but soft like the ground they use now in children’s playgrounds, Willow loves it because it’s kind to his knees, i find I run faster on the road so go off sometimes and run elsewhere
