Flat trails on Milton Common

We were late. Mr and Mrs Coddfish had correctly remembered 0900 in the car park, Dexy and I remembered 0930, oops. Still we were all gathered safely in eventually and Coddfish and I set off first. We stuck to the main trails thinking that the smaller ones might be very muddy. There was a degree of puddle avoidance and I struggled a bit in the first km - a very toxic time! Looking at the stats my heart rate was quite high during that bit but it settled down and the rest was fine.Yet again our gps signals were different so we started at the same point but ended separately, weird how that happens isn’t it? Avg pace of 9.38 and a total time of 48.10 so pretty slow but the scenery and company were great! A very nice mince pie and coffee to finish, sitting by the harbour edge with the tide right up and 2 ticks off the bingo card. Excellent!

Another great run for you today OGR, love the photos of you, Dexy5 and UTS, it was a good run and like me on my run on Saturday I also had a Mince Pie and coffee when I finished.

Thanks AM - it’s definitely the season for mince pies!

Well done fellow reindeer. It was lovely to see you running with Coddfish again today. It was a good idea to stick to the wider paths, but hey what are trails shoes for? 👟 👟 I’ve been told that watch GPS signals are more accurate than mobile apps so that might be the difference in your distances.

Always dangerous to follow Mr C’s choice of running route. His drying out trail shoes still decorate our hallway, whilst mine were able to go straight into their box.

Yes ours got hosed down in the garden straight away and stuffed with newspaper. Back to road shoes on Thursday.

A lovely run with good company and a tasty treat at the end - perfect what could be better! 👍🏻😄 Great photos too!

Thanks Elfe, they’re not a bad group for eating and drinking with! And running, of course!

It sounds a good run despite the time mix up and the gps weirdness. I especially like the idea of a mince pie by the sea

Anything by the sea is good dijep, we’re so lucky!

It’s great that you can do this, so good to see friends and running ones are extra special

Sounds like a lovely run...and how great to meet up and run ‘together’, and enjoy mince pies and coffee 🥰

Yes we’ve done a fair amount of running followed by food this year Lottie! When we’ve been able to of course. We can’t eat together inside at the moment but as long as the weather stays kind we’ll be sitting outside for our post run coffee!

Wise to stick to the wide paths, I think OGR - otherwise the additional puddle avoidance might have put your heart rate up even further!Looks like you were the only 'customers' at the Thatched House.😜

Yes there was no other sign of life JP other than a woman who came to ask if we were customers or if we had a vehicle in the car park on the other side- the tide was almost starting to lap round the wheels of one of the cars! Shades of parking at Bosham!

We did hear an owl. Or at least there was an owl around earlier, when Mr C and I first arrived. Plus the cormorant on swan lake that the others spotted.

I was waiting for your post OGR, then I realised I don’t follow you - but now I do! So no more missed posts. 😀

Well done braving the muddy puddles. There’s more rain forecast so you’re wise simply embracing them. 💦 Nice run, and your reward of a mince pie and coffee sounds just the ticket! 🥰 I’ve yet to have one this year. Something I need to rectify! 😅🎄

I thought you did too cheeky but as I have no idea who I’m following at the moment, who really knows! I’ve decided I quite like sploshing through puddles, it must be the inner child!
