It's been a long time since I've been able to run in the rain, so was super happy to feel the rain drops a few minutes after I left the house this morning π§
Today's run was an increase to 8 lots of 2 minute runs. Just about warmed up by the 7th set... still haven't got this walk/run clothing worked out!
I run on the roads around the perimeter of my park run course in the uni. Reminded me of a park run back in February when the hailstones where hitting my face!!! Happy memories of both park run and when I could run 5k π€£
Happy Saturday π

Loving it! Well done for getting out in the rain this morning! I love seeing everyoneβs commitment to their running! Have a lovely weekend ππ»ββοΈπ
You are gradually getting back to running Mum22 boys, slow and steady is the mantra slogan here on C25K, take all your runs gently, it was nice for you to feel the rain β when you were running, you deserve to be very proud of yourself, well done.
This morning I ran my 24th (not) parkrun, I began my run at sunrise when it was still quite dark, that made some Christmas Lights in people's gardens and a little Xmas tree π shine brightly, a very pretty site as I ran past.
It was a pretty site, I usually run my not parkrun at 9.30, the time of the official Parkrun time, however, I got the idea to run earlier at sunrise from my midweek run when I saw all those Christmas lights on at that earlier time, so that's why I ran earlier this morning, by 9.30 its far too daylight and all the Christmas lights are off, I will be switching on my Xmas π π lights next Saturday.
Ha ha π Thank you, still just keeping everything crossed at the moment!
Great news, so glad to hear your recovery runs are going well. How lovely to have those memories with you, so important to get us through tougher times, hopefully it wonβt be too long before youβre back to 5k. Keep warm out there π€
Oh they really are important. Struggling a bit at the moment. In principle I don't mind lockdown and we're going back into tier 3 on Wednesday but I just need to be able to have half a day doing something different. I feel like since mid march every day has been the same. Sorry for the off loading π
Definitely need to work on the keeping warm π€£ I have very thin gloves I wear buy they're not really doing much good at the moment but the I keep thinking as I progress... hopefully π€ I won't need anything thicker so resisting the temptation!!
Definitely Mum22boys, itβs tough and itβs fine to say so, getting injured at a time like this is doubly difficult especially when youβd been enjoying your running so much and it was as well an important part of nurturing yourself. Itβs hard to stay patient all the time isnβt it? So keep going with your plan, keep remembering the good times and it will come good.As for the gloves, I bought some Ronhill wind block running gloves and they are lovely and light but warm. Take care π€
Just keeping everything crossed!! This all feels so much harder than stating c25k in the first place! Not physically, that's soooo much easier. But I know now how much I love running, and just want to be back. Patience though π
