Pushed along by my daughter on her bike and pulled along by a seasoned running neighbour, I managed to clock up a hat trick of PBs this morning on my Vitality 10000 run. Can safely say that there was nothing left in the tank at the end π₯΅
Can't believe that I only started C25K at the start of the year and now capable of achieving sub 30 min 5ks and sub 1hr 10ks (and not forgetting the many other benefits to health and wellbeing). Most runs are a bit slower. Having a seasoned runner alongside me for a number of my recent long runs has definitely helped me progress quite significantly and nice to have some to chat with. It will, however, be sometime before I attempt anything quite so fast again π.

Congratulations on those PB's on running the Virtual Vitality London 10 000, today, having a seasoned runner with you would help you getting that very good time. π ππΎ
Congratulations on another VV10K, and an excellent run of PBS.
What tremendous progress and your 10k time is phenomenal ππππ
Running gives us so much and I'm looking forward to hearing about your journey moving forwards. I hope you feel really proud. You deserve your successes π
Thank you. Yes, I do feel really proud of what's been achieved and not just with the VV10k but with everything since I started my C25K journey. I'm enjoying experimenting with the runs, mixing up long and short, fast and slow, and more recently benchmarking my current pace/stamina/running posture with a more seasoned runner who seems to glide along without breaking into a sweat.
I think the real challenge will come with finding enough time for the >10k runs. May have to switch from morning to night π¬
Well done SB and congratulations on all those PBs! It was a grand day for the V10k yesterday!
Unless Iβm feeling particularly energetic and healthy I save my fast runs for the races or parkrun (βitβs not a raceβ π). Itβs been a while this year though so not sure that tactic works so well at the moment...
Thank you. Today's 7.5km outting was a run at a much easier recovery pace, a long way from any PBs and just enjoyed being out in the light drizzly rain (I run hot so don't mind the rain).
