Wahoo!!! Iβve graduated π the Magic 10K Plan!!!
I woke up this morning and it was grim outside, super cold and wet βοΈ so I had my morning coffee and decided to push this run to tomorrow in the hope it would be better conditions. But then there was a break in the rain and I thought βnow or never - letβs go!β πββοΈ
PBβs were not my goal today, I wanted to ease off of the gas a bit and enjoy the run with the aim to get my pace fairly consistent throughout.
I let my mind wonder and settled in for the 60 minutes of continuous activity - just me, my playlist and nature.
5K came in at an acceptable 28:44 and I was happy with another sub 30 mins considering I wasnβt pushing myself at full pelt.
10K came in at 1h 14secs. My 3rd fastest time but I knew this would be the case today - opting for comfort over speed.
But because it was (just!) over the 60 minute mark I opted to push on to see how much gas β½οΈ I had left in the tank.
Voila - my first 12K!!! πͺ
I canβt quite believe I ran for a whole 75 minutes! Absolutely made up! The Magic 10K Plan is an absolute work of art! And not too shabby an Ave. Pace all things considered!
Now, I pushed over the 10% rule ever so slightly π but I knew I would be treating my faithful legs to a weeks well earned rest and I listened to my body. Well, at the very least - five days rest! Hopefully! π€π»
Happy running all πββοΈ πββοΈ and well done and congratulations π₯³ to all B210K graduates!
Rest, recharge, recuperate - prepare for HM challenge πͺ

Fantastic effort, amazing time for your 1st 10k. Remember to stop by for your 10miles badge at just over 16k on your way to your half marathon. Happy running π€
OMG what a brill result . Always knew it was a sure thing, but 12K too!!! You're an absolute star ππ also a great incentive to us all. I will make 10K one day - next year sometimeπ€£ππ. Will never manage anywhere near your times but I don't care. Anyway, really looking forward to seeing your journey through 10 miles, HM and then the really big one. Hope you've entered for The London Marathon next year. ππβ
Thanks Hareshaw-Granny ππ» Just a little over the 10% but I thought βWhy not?β and the legs were keen to give it a go! Iβll be there to cheer you on for your 10K! πͺ I have entered the LM ballot π± Itβs why Iβm keen to push on so Iβm in a good place with my training IF selected π
Wow thatβs fast ! And super over achieving , Congrats !! Not quite at 10K myself yet - going to try tomorrow. But will console myself that Iβve already run that length of time - but I only managed 9k in that time !!
Thanks Tillybeach ππ» Yes, the well earned resting has commenced! π§ββοΈ

Boooooom! Love this. Many congratulations because although you have a natural talent and speed you work so hard and have been so consistent. As you go through the miles the feeling of how far you've come and what you're capable of is an awesome feeling. One tip...Go out in the rain π§ it's the best thing! πππππ Have a terrific weekend!
Thanks GTFC ππ» I really appreciate the acknowledgment of my training! π€ And the kind words of support from you and others here! Iβm sure Iβll be checking in for advice as I push on and gradually increase my distance.
I donβt mind the rain that much but I try to avoid getting saturated because my running shoes arenβt waterproof π I just canβt stand cold, wet and squelching feet putting me off my stride!
New shoes are on my wish list when my COVID inflicted circumstances change for the better. As is a chest harness for my phone, a cheap smart watch and some warmer clothes. I really want to go hands free when running - holding my phone is now annoying me so much!
This weekend I shall be resting, stretching, eating and drinking! π§ββοΈ
Fantastic!! Love hearing this. You deserve all those things going forward because you can take it where you want to go. Your hard work and effort allow you to run as you do (which is terrific, so treat yourself) and achieve.
Rest up, eat and drink and relax and then go again on your awesome adventure. Everyone has advice, take any you need, discard what you don't but as you do now, go by feel and make your own way. Hydration jackets are ace to pop a phone and drink in on longer runs. I don't like the feel of it on my waist with a belt.
Thanks kninjasticks ππ» Yes, I was made up with my graduation run! Iβve had two days rest and the legs are already itching to get back out! I think Iβm going to push to a HM distance before the end of the year π±
