Just one of βthoseβ runs! Everything was just off today!
π€·ββοΈ Alas, I turned the run into an interval run after 2.5K when I realised my head just wasnβt in the right space today. I didnβt want to give up entirely so I pushed through to the 5K target π―
Many contributing factors to my lack of mojo today - walked a fair distance yesterday, slept badly last night and stressing too much about the Tier 3 restrictions and lack of work etc etc (welcome Manchester to the gang! π).
Well, it is what it is and I was overdue an βoffβ run π€
Thinking about it - throwing it away!
Setting my sights on my B210K graduation π¨βπ run πββοΈ on Friday!
Happy running all! πββοΈ πββοΈ

Hey a runs a run and you gained a decent 5k leg stretch π take the positive πͺ
Thanks cheekychipmunks ππ» Yes, I managed a sub 30 but only because I opted for intervals π
I think of all my runs as pebbles on a beach. Some are shiny or smooth or larger, some are dull or rough or smaller but they're all there in front of me and all are valuable. Well done on adding another!
I'm finding it tough at the moment with the current situation even though I'm working, (don't know how long for) and I understand the lack of sleep situation.
Thanks Instructor57 ππ» Sorry to read youβre finding it tough too. Thereβs no sugar coating it - itβs a tough period for everyone. Iβm normally a glass half full kind of guy but today the glass is definitely half empty. Anyways, onwards! πββοΈ
The six month wall in any sustained crisis is a real and documented thing. There's loads written about it and we had something emailed around about it in work.
I think we are all struggling with our own worries right now but this says it's OK and perfectly normal. We will get through this - one way or another
π€ It wouldnβt have been a sub 30 if I hadnβt switched to an interval training run πββοΈ Thatβs off for me - if I change from my plan π
Itβs relentless at the moment - need some good news!
But yes, weβve got our running to keep us (almost) sane π
Understand completely. Too much stress, not enough sleep. So sorry you are struggling, too.
You certainly achieved with this run, though! Well done ππππ. A sub 30 minute 5K! Trying not to be envious, my forte is running long, I think! π But a brilliant run, even though it wasnβt quite what you were hoping for.
We all have them unfortunately, I'm just struggling at the moment with needing more rest days which is frustrating because I want to run but my muscles particularly my quads are sore. Like you I push myself to finish the distance I have set myself but just lately it's a struggle. But, I wish I was at 5.32 pace, I'm miles off that, my best is 6.26!
Sometimes you just have to accept that that it's not the way you want your run to be. You have a lot going on by the sounds of it. Be kind to yourself! πββοΈπ
Echoing HedgeHogs sentiment - be kind to yourself. You've been doing brilliantly!
And sorry to hear about the craziness up there in Manchester. It can't be easy. I think we'll be following you soon down here in London - Tier 3 coming?
We're all here to support each other - so remember you're not alone!
We're low in Lincolnshire but just had a call to say my mum's residential home has gone into lockdown, so again no visitors. Difficult with mum with having dementia, she just thinks I'm too busy to go in, obviously just doesn't understand what covid is βΉοΈπββοΈ
