10k pb and a baby frog 🐸 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

My very first 10k was in December 2019. I remember after that first one how exhausted I was at the end . Then realised the more you run them the less exhausting it gets.

So today I chose a route I've ran before but haven't ran it in a while. Its quite hilly on the way out and a bit better on the way back. Everything felt good especially my breathing . Stopped the watch and was just over 10k . Came in loaded the run and was so pleased to have ran my very first sub 60 minute 10k .

I must admit I'm quite chuffed . So off for a shower now then out with the dog.

Happy running people 😊😊

I also found this baby frog ( or froglet) as I'm told in the garden . I've never seen one so tiny as you can see it wasn't much bigger than a £1 coin 🐸

Fantastic effort, goodness those hills. They obviously suit you with your new PBs. Froglets are amazing. We had 3 ponds in our old garden and there were loads of frogs and froglets. Found our 1st pond in new garden yesterday. Happy running πŸ€—

Thanks Grannyhugs, we love our hills don't we🀣 . Great you found another pond. I've only ever seen fully grown frogs so this was a first for me. 😊

No pond just frogs, great for keeping the slugs at bay.

You can ask me as often as you like 😍.

Still doing my wheelchair workouts - got so excited at having proper dumb bells this morning that I forgot to turn my Garmin on until the power save beeped at me πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I’m just hoping that when I go to my next hospital appointment - should be next week - it’s doing as well on the inside as it is on the outside, so proper physio can begin .

Congratulations Buddy34 on your first sub 60 minute 10K. Great running. I have about 100 baby frogs and senior tadpoles in my back garden. The boys rescued frog spawn from a puddle in our local park before it dried up in February or March. We raise them to baby frog stage and then release them to a swamp where loads of their fellow frogs reside. It's our 3rd year to adopt. :-)

Fantastic running and sub 60 is amazing. I'm a long way off it but will work at getting back there.

Thanks Damien. How great to have your very own frog pond. Your boys must love it 😊

damienair profile image
damienairAdministrator in reply to Buddy34

It's more of a long plastic container filled with water, leaves, algae and fish food than a frog pond. The boys love it at the start, but just like our 5 year old Guinea Pig downstairs they lose interest pretty fast and Daddy ends up cleaning, feeding and looking after them. :-) And they of course take all the credit.

Well done Buddy - a sub 60 10k, fantastic! It sounds as though you really enjoyed your run! And a froglet in the garden - I can’t remember the last time I had frogs in my little garden. The number of slugs and snails around suggest it could be a while before I see one again!

Buddy34 profile image

Thank you. Don't even understand why it was there as there is no water that nearby 😊

Congratulations Buddy34 on your sub 60 minutes 10k, looks like the run had a few challenges along the way too. You must be cracking along the A30 on LEJOG04 as well.

Enjoy your walk - look out for any frogs!

Aww thanks. Think I realised at 8k I just might be able to get it under the hour so I went for it πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

A group of us were walking along a very small country road once and we realised that the road surface was moving.

There were hundreds of froglets, so many that it was difficult to walk without stepping on them

Oldfloss profile image

Had that last year when out with small runner on training.. hundreds crossing the path..we had to move them out if our way, as she was so afraid we might squish them xx

Wow, what an amazing run, that is fantastic Buddy. I doubt I will ever get a sub 1 hr 10k or sub 30 min 5k and am in awe of anyone who can, it's fantastic.

The froglet is very cute too. There are a few places near me that have ponds and lakes and from about April onwards, you can see tiny toads that are about the size of your fingernail. Isn't nature wonderful.

Congratulations again on another amazing run Buddy πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸ₯³πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

UnfitNoMoreGraduate10 in reply to Buddy34

I’d have to run it the other way round! We’re all different of course. I struggle to cope with or recover from any ups early in the run, but my head says logically I should prefer to get them out of the way. The cool thing is you smashed the run, and you’re still feeling great... for me that makes that run just perfect.
