My birthday present to self 😇

So I did it and more ! Today’s my birthday and downloading Couch to5k 12 weeks ago was my present to myself as I was feeling I didn’t want to be unfit and 50. 😀 And I thought I’d do a ‘5k at 50’ run but I actually did 6k the other day !! (Consolidation run 5) and so i thought I’d have a bit of fun today instead and not push it. So here’s my ‘fun run’ ! (Never thought I’d use those 2 words together and mean it !!!!🤣).

Thank you Oldgirlruns !! I hope to get to 10 k eventually but my current target is 60 mins by end of September. I’m quite slow so 10K will take much longer than 60 mins I guess !! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

I’m super slow - my 5k takes me roughly 50 minutes and my 10k is twice that! Slow but consistent!

Great work completing C25k and 6k on top. I used to live right next to Brockwell Park, and miss it lots, especially the walled garden!

I used to lived there too and was thinking just the same! We loved the walled garden and the paddling pool, never braved the temperature in the lido though!

My friend is a real cold water swimming fan and was a regular down there, but she never convinced me to brave the icy waters! We were very lucky to have that lovely space on our doorstep. I spent many hours pushing a buggy up the hill to meet friends at the café.

Oh it’s such a wonderful park, so diverse, there’s even a part of it that feels a little wild, if you use your imagination. Don’t know what I’d do without that park !! 😍

Oh I love the walled garden ! I love the views of the city, I love watching the swans, the resident heron, the visiting cormorant, the occasional gathering of seagulls, the once-spotted young kestrel..... but I never notice any of that when running !!! Must take more notice. 🥰

Yes !! It was my fun to try and draw ‘50’ on the gps 😀 not perfect but made for a varied run different to usual hamster wheel route round and round !

Lol, it has that effect on me too these days...oh well, stops me overdoing it so often! As long as it's not a run day you're all good 😆
