3rd 6k In The Misty Morning Rain

6k run number 3 completed, so much cooler and a fine rain in the air, which felt great. Ran my normal route which I’ve done for 5k runs, which takes me to the park but this morning it’s 6k so had to run past the bench where I normally sit for a few minutes at the end.....something different this morning though, ran past it with ease, and around the park again didn’t want or need to stop. Loving the feeling, still feeling great as I heard Coach Bennett say you’ve completed it, didn’t feel out of breath, thought to myself I could maybe have run that one quicker 😁.

Headed home thinking I’ve still got more in the tank, so chose another Nike Run Club guided run of 1 mile and did that too 😮 still feeling good I threw in a further run (unguided) and an actual full on sprint at the end......wow what a run.....does it get easier this running lark......well today it definitely did!

Checked Fitbit when I got home, total distance covered today 10.11k (runs interspersed with some walking)

Considering a 7k Run next week based on that performance, watch this space.

Wow! That's amazing Couchphoenix. I surprised myself with a 6k for the first time on Thursday - and I too didn't feel so out of breath. Seems like running does get easier the more you do it, and I'm finally finding my confidence, a you certainly must be too. Good luck on your 7k!

Thank you 58soon, it’s a real confidence booster when you have a run like that...and the sprint at the end was the icing on the cake....well done on your 6k too 👍

Excellent run for you today, you are on your way to run a 10K, run at least two runs a week, one of them a 5K, the other a 1K more run than the previous week as you did today, so 7K next week. 😊 🏃🏾

Thanks AlMorr I seem to be getting much better at pacing myself with these runs, it was so much cooler today too. I’m still getting such a buzz out of discovering what my body is actually capable of.....a steady 7k is on the cards for next week 👍

Thanks Buddy34, 7k will be a challenge but I think I can get there if I take it nice and steady 👍

Hi C,

I love your narratives 🏃‍♂️.

Congratulations on all your running activities , and especially your new Brooks runners, they sound amazing , what style did you select ?

Were they for road running ?

I’ve just received a Fitzbit and I’m looking forward to my run tomorrow at 6am to try it out. I had an old Garmin from 10 years ago , it was good but can’t update it .

🏃‍♀️🐾

I quite like my Fitbit, I’ve nothing to compare it too as it’s the first fitness watch I’ve had, hopefully you’ll get on well with it too 👍

Hi C,

I went out yesteray morning at 6am with my Fitbit on, after fumberling with it ( no glases on)I managed to activate it. Once home reviewed the results and I have to state, I'm impressed with the information. Its a keeper and a great improvement from my old Garmin .

I've read good reports about Brooks runners, thank goodness they are comfortable :)

That’s good news, glad you’re happy with the Fitbit. I love my Brooks, would definitely get another pair, no aches and pains since I started using those 👍🏃‍♂️

Hi B

Thank you, that’s a first for me being complimented on my narratives 😊

The Brooks are Ravenna 10, I saw them on eBay, nothing too technical here, I just liked the look of them, I was lucky as they fit perfect and are so comfortable. I had insoles tailor made for me from a sports shop a few years back, so put those in and job done ✅

Brilliant, your stamina is so obviously getting stronger. Wow to feel that there is fuel in the tank after 6k is amazing! Nice work!

Thank you JoggingT, stamina must have increased as you say, I’ve done lots of consolidation runs mainly 5k, so 6k wasn’t too much of a stretch....wonder if I’ll say the same about 7k 😬

It's brilliant when a run feels so good, it's what keeps us coming back for more.

Sounds like you'll smash 7K next week 🙂👍

Thank you Run46....I’ll give it my best shot....I’ve been glad of the runs on Nike Run Club app, I think having the encouragement/ distraction of a coach every so often definitely helps 🏃‍♂️
