How often can i run?

I graduated couch 5k in June and have continued with my alternate days running, I have done a mix of 30 minutes steppingstones podcast or music and heading out with no plans for longer runs. Today was a non run day but was up stupidly early and nearly went for a 🦥 run but didn’t as next one not until tomorrow. I decided to bake instead but would like to run more. I don’t think I move fast enough to do any damage 😳

Well done on your progress this far. The general rule of thumb is to not run consecutive days during the first year - you could do other non impact activities like walking, cycling, yoga on alternate days. Happy running 🤗

Thank you I shall find another activity for alternate alternate days and reign my enthusiasm in. Lido opens soon so will do swimmings 😁

So jealous, bit chilly in Scotland for open air pools and I think it will be a long time before lockdown restrictions are lifted to allow indoor swimming. Enjoy 🤗

The coldness is intense you have to keep swimming or you freeze to death 🥶

The deep end is the middle for added peril!

That’s just to keep you swimming 😉

Seconding the “alternate days” limit for the first year. Do something else on your gap day that focuses on your core and reduce the risk of an injury. (Says the man who doesn’t do core exercises 🤦‍♂️)

That made me laugh. I’m even worse, I’m married for 14 years to a Pilates instructor and have never tried Pilates even once. I don’t do core exercises either. 😂

Of course it does. It's called a life hack!

What’s this hoover? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I will look at my core (with view to exercising it) . Thank you
