Easter 10k ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿฐ

I am so lucky living where I do that social distancing is very easy to achieve. I signed up to do a virtual Easter 10k for the Roy Castle foundation so decided to go before it gets too warm. Not all that early for some of you I know but 8.30 on Sunday morning is early enough for me. My usual 10k out and back route in 1:05:17, my happy pace. Shower and breakfast done and a Zoom dinner party with Shake-and-run planned for this evening. Happy Easter everybody!

Well done. I am also lucky enough to live in an area where it is easy to social distance. Got some bad news this morning as a friendโ€™s brother lost his battle with the virus after being in ICU for 16 days, he was only 63 and this brings it all a bit closer to home. Happy Easter and enjoy your dinner.

So sorry to hear about your friendโ€™s brother. I think a lot of us thought it only affected old people with underlying health conditions but we have been shown time and again over the last couple of weeks that it can take anybody. Take care xx

Yes I just wish some of the people who refuse to social distance would realise that it can affect them too!

Thatโ€™s so sad to hear Wg, as Sandie says, itโ€™s becoming all to clear that this virus can affect

everyone, not those with health conditions. My condolences to you and your friend

Well done Sandie, a great run done., and it does look quiet.

A zoom dinner sounds fun. Oldgirlruns and mr & Mrs Coddfish did pre-dinner drinks on skype last week, and UTS and I wore formal dinner wear as weโ€™ve not been able to dress up for so long. That surprised everyone. Wonder what weโ€™ll wear at the next one ๐Ÿค”

2 runners, 1 cyclist, 3 dog walkers and an elderly couple out for a stroll in the sunshine were the only people I saw๐Ÿ˜ณ

Not sure about formal dinner wear but I am going to wear a frock ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have to say we only dressed the top half - jeans below.

Itโ€™s nice to wear a dress now spring has sprung. Iโ€™m living in gym gear or gardening wear at the mo.

Judging by that photograph social distancing is very easy to achieve, congratulations on completing that virtual Easter 10K today.

Thanks Al. The countryside may not be very exciting consisting of flat fields and hedges (no hills, not many trees) but it is very quiet. Happy Easter!

Thanks BC. The same to you and Mrs BC (and Molly of course). It is amazing what we can do isnโ€™t it? Mind you, my iPhone tells me my social media time has rocketed in the last couple of weeks ๐Ÿ™Š

Thanks OGR. Iโ€™ve never used the face to face stuff before, so am learning new tricks - like where to put the iPad or laptop so I donโ€™t look down and end up with a double chin ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Or putting it on a flat surface so the other person is looking straight up your nose, which is what my brother usually does!

Congratulations on your 10k Event. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰And the countryside looks ideal. Paths near us are too narrow to use. โ˜น๏ธ And have fun at your Zoom dinner party. We are having a virtual tea-share each day with our California daughter. She has her morning mug full and we have an afternoon cuppa. So grateful for the techies who figured these things out - never thought how much weโ€™d use it! Happy Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ‰

Thanks Granspeed. It sounds wonderful being able to โ€œmeetโ€ your daughter each day. Bet you wonder why you didnโ€™t do it before ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Have a good day x

๐Ÿ˜„ Trouble with California is an 8 hour time change makes communication tricky with a working teacher except at weekends. But now sheโ€™s working from home, her breakfast routine can include us. One of the few up-sides!

Aww lovely Sandie, well done! Good plan getting that run in before it got too hot. I was out this morning too and there was almost no breeze at all. ๐Ÿฅต

Have fun Zooming this evening. We did a family team pub quiz with Mr Cheekyโ€™s rowing club friends last night! Total chaos, but lots of fun. Iโ€™ve also had a few choir Zoom sessions too - hmmmm! ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜… - the time lag!!

Congratulations! I did the Roy Castle run too, with a friend from here - virtually of course! The medal is lovely. I was impressed with the whole event really, a very personal touch from the admin, and a nice fb group too.
