Running and tired(still)

I had posted on Monday how tired I was when running and thought just one of those runs. Today felt much the same.

I eat well and as I said before keep well hydrated as I want to do everything I can to be able to run and enjoy it .

So got an appointment with the doctor and maybe get my bloods checked just in case.

I'm never like this any day never mind when running, since I started this I've got more energy than I've ever had.

So I will wait and see.

Happy running 😊😊

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. Do you think that maybe you just need a rest? You have been doing so amazingly well and all those 10k’s. Perhaps your body is just tired?

I hope all goes well at the doctors.

Maybe that's it . But I will get checked anyway. Thanks 😊

Good idea, just to be sure. You’re doing amazingly well.

I tried the gym running machine again today (3rd time) and I lasted 5 minutes before I got off and went outside for a run! It was SO much better. 😀

My son left on Monday and my mother today so I will be getting back to my training. I’m really looking forward to it

after today and you have been inspiring me all over Christmas.

The treadmill isn't for everyone and then some people really like it.

I think outside running is brilliant, I know the weather can be rubbish but you get used to it.

Don't think I've ever inspired anyone before 🤣🤣

in reply to Buddy34

Well there you go, I am definitely inspired 😊

Probably nothing but I want to be in good condition so I can keep running😊

You were very wise on getting an appointment with your doctor Buddy34, not nice to hear from you that you did not enjoy your run again today, I just hope that you will feel better very soon.

As for me I had a short 3K run again this morning around that newly resurfaced route, a repeat of Sundays run, in the afternoon I got the train to Milngavie and walked 4 Kilometres and back up the West Highland Way, 8K altogether, there was a heavy shower which made things very muddy, but I did have my walking boots on which with a second pair of running socks I still felt very comfortable.

When I got my gait analysis last year I bought 1 pair of proper running shoes and two pairs of Hilly TwinSkin socks, one pair of socks for running which I have been doing for nearly 20 months and a second pair for going long winter walks which I have been doing for more than 20 years.

Once again I hope you will feel better very soon.

Regards

Alan 👍

All the best. I hope you’re ok. Maybe a virus on the way? Unfortunately there have been some rotten ones around recently. Anyway take care 🙂

Sometimes we do just need to take it easy for a week, but getting things checked out is a good idea.

I actually have an under active thyroid and that made me tired (and slightly low mood wise) before it got treated.

Probably it's just from having too much booze at Christmas & New Year 😂

doctor will probably find 70% blood alchohol when he tests your blood! 🤣

Joking aside, hope you're feeling better soon, think it's just that time of year where there's a lot of bugs & viruses around, haven't been feeling 100% myself..

😉

🤣🤣🤣I don't really drink alcohol, maybe I need some. The last time I had a few drinks was when I got married in Oban in July.

Like you say maybe just a virus😊

To be fair, you can hardly go to Oban and not drink... 🤣

Hoping all is well and your energy returns to normal very quickly so you can run and enjoy. Good move to get checked out.

That’s wick that you don’t feel yourself - good for being proactive about that though. Hope all goes well.

Weirdly I went for a 5K run on Tuesday and the last 1K felt like I was running in concert boots my feet felt so heavy,I’ve never experienced this before. I’ve put it down to been overtired hopefully tonight’s run will be better.

Hope you’re bloods all come back fine and you’re just having a couple of rubbish days running. I’m sure you will be back running 10k before you know it I think January is just a depressing month anyway bad weather and Xmas and new year all over with.

A lot of us feel a bit flat at this time of year. I know I do. January is just such a dreary month. Like Maddee_6333 , I also have to contend with hypothyroidism, which doesn't help. Throw in having suffered from depression since my late teens and it's a wonder I actually manage anything.

There are all sorts of bugs going around at this time which you can be more susceptible to when you're run down.

That said, it could just be that you need to schedule a few days break for your legs. I've found a week off every couple of months does me the world of good (although resisting the urge to get out can be a form of torture).

Anyway, hope whatever it is passes soon and you're back up and firing on all cylinders again.

Fingers crossed all is well. Hopefully it's just lack of sunshine and some vitamins. Best wishes x

Hoping all is well at the doctors and sure it will be, maybe your low on iron or need some more vitamins etc.

I did find that when I was running long distances regularly I was shattered so reduced it now as I felt my body was saying you don’t need to do that all the time and gave myself a short break.

Let us know how you get on x

Maybe 5 10ks in December was too much .

That's what I was thinking maybe my iron levels are low. But I do eat well so don't know 😊

5 - 10k’s ! Think that may have something to do with it. Impressive !

I eat very healthy (fruit/veg etc) but sometimes your body is telling you to stop and there is no harm in that at all.

Spinach on the shopping list 💪
