Clive’s birthday run for Prostate Cancer Research

Some of you have met my dear friend Clive. Well, on Friday he turned 60 and, rather than pig out and get drunk like normal people do, he decided to organise a 5k/10k celebration run for his running club (+interloper 😃) in aid of Prostate Cancer Research. I couldn’t miss this one so got up at stupid o’clock to walk the dog in the dark (my penance for getting Mr Sandie up to drive to the south of Leicester). As we arrived the rain stopped and the sun came out. There were about 40 of us in total. It was a circular run with a few undulations, a proper finish arch, bling and, best of all, bacon sarnies. My one year anniversary of my first 10k, I clicked over 1000km of running and got a PB of 1:02:17. To date, Clive has raised about £450 for his charity. All in all, a very good morning 😃😂😂

What a wonderful way to celebrate Clive’s 60th Sandie. Sounds like a fabulous morning, and hopefully well worth the early start! 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃

Gosh you’re close to being sub 60 - so what with that and your regular sub 30 5ks, you are officially Sandie the Speed Demon! Well done you! 👍🏃‍♀️🎉

A very merry Christmas to you and your family, and here’s to more fun VRB meetups in 2020! (You need to sample Ashton Court for example!) 😅😅 xx

Thank you dear Cheeky 😊It really was a fab morning. The only problem now is that the Squirrels want him to do it every year! Fundraising over £500 which is brilliant.

A sub 60 10k still feels some way off, if ever. HM first 😳😬

Have a wonderful Xmas, especially with your new little Cheeky chappy and here’s to many happy running miles and meet ups in 2020 xxx

Well done for getting up early to run for such a good cause Sandie. What a brilliant thing for Clive to do on his 60th birthday too.

A very good time too young lady. I’m going back to training again after Christmas so just multiple parkruns for a while now.

Thanks BC! As ever, never one to resist a challenge, Clive asked one of his club runners to keep an eye on me so I didn’t get lost and I used him as a pacer 😂 I’m doing a 5k virtual Turkey Trot on Boxing Day (for t-shirt and medal of course!).

A very happy Christmas to you and Mrs BC and hope to meet up in person in 2020 🎄😃
