Parkrun to finish Week 5 ✅

After sleeping in and missing Parkrun last week, I was determined to get there this morning! My son came too and completed his 10th Parkrun so is now part of the 10 Club. No pb for either of us but I am delighted with my time of 38:48 which is only 20 seconds slower than my pb back in the summer. This is only the second time I have run a sub 39 mins so I am feeling proud! Next week is the Christmas Parkrun and we were encouraged to turn up looking festive. Looking forward to seeing all the runners in Santa hats etc! Happy running and have a good weekend. ☺

Well done.. Parkrun is a great way of getting the 5km run in on the magic plan :)

It sure is. That's why I was cross with myself for missing it last week, it messed up my magic plan schedule!

Fantastic Debston! Well done to both of you. It certainly is an amazing start to the weekend isn’t it? I had another engagement this morning, and reallllly missed PR. Back to normal next weekend though. 🏃‍♀️👍🦌🎄🎅❤️

Oh that will be so much fun! Hope people bring mince pies (and mulled wine) to share after.

I'm already looking forward to seeing everyone's photos next week

Well done Debston - a great time! I did volunteer duty this morning with Dexy5. We were tail walking and were only about 5 minutes slower than the first time I ran it!

Thanks, Oldgirlruns! Well done for being a volunteer at Parkrun this morning, and brilliant to reflect on how far you have come since starting out!

Well done and congratulations to your son on his 10th parkrun. I’m sure he will looke great in his milestone 10 T-Shirt.

Well done of course to you too. My local parkrun is running on Christmas morning. I am looking forward to it. From next weekend I will run 3x parkruns and a 5K Christmas road race within 1 week.

Debs you’re doing so well and congrats to your boy on his junior milestone. I like the sound of a festive parkrun, I hope my local one will do something similar.

Happy running and enjoy your weekend

How nice to be able to run with your son and we’ll done on the time. Enjoy next week.

Park Run with only 18% battery? That's brave! 🤣

Great time and congratulations to your son. 😊

😂 Hadn't noticed that! I think mapmyrun uses up a lot of battery! And keeps claiming that the Parkrun course is well under the 5km... I just ignore it now.

Strava told me I ran 4.99km at Saturday's park run, and it was my personal best from the official time, but the app refuses to accept it was 5K. 🙄

Well done both, great to run with your son and pass on the joy of running

He's really taken to it and says that he wouldn't have started if he hadn't seen me doing Couch to 5k! His school report for PE was absolutely glowing this term, the Head of PE said his improvement from last year is outstanding, so he was made up to read those comments. ☺

It does make so much difference even to youngsters who should be able to run and run, but with today’s lifestyle of cars and safety aspects a lot of youngsters don’t run very much

i think you are proud to pass your love of running on and he should be proud to run especially 10 park runs too

I am SO proud of him, although it's also quite annoying that he is so much faster than me at Parkrun! My daughters have also started doing junior parkrun (2km) on a Sunday morning which is lovely.
