A little update and ankle pain

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well. So I completed run 2 of week 1 today (I am using a 5 to 10k app as I need the voice cues), which consisted of 10' jog, 3' tempo run and a final 10' jog. It's raining today in London and there is a lot of wind which made the run even better. I clearly don't like running in the heat so this weather worked wonders. Oh and I have signed up for a 10k, the cancer research winter run on February the 9th.

but I started to have pain in my left ankle when I stop running (ok when I run). I wonder if this is because last week end I ran three days in a row? Hopefully the pain will go away :)

Happy running to all! Now going to enjoy some quiet time home with the rain knocking on my window

Give your ankle a rest for a day or two, but apply some pain relief ointment, then try stretching your calf muscle gently. The calf muscle is attached to the ankle so stretching it might give your ankle a wee stretch and maybe fix it.

I think it's far too early to be running 3 days in a row. So yes that could be the cause of your ankle pain because of doing too much too soon. Take a few rest days and make sure you're in no pain then you can try running again. Good luck 😊

It's like everything else it's not until we do something we realise what effect it will have on us 😊

Have rest. After a few days if pain free and trying to run, keep an eye on your ankle. Do not overload it.

I agree with Oldschool01 and Buddy34.

Thank you so much. I took a bath with the seaweed and arnica bath foam (works a miracle) and put some tiger balm and already feeling better. 🙂 next run Tuesday hopefully
