I know loads of people have done it but I'm quite pleased lol. If my maths is right I make that 39mins 48 seconds (I will double check. I ran a bit further so I don't have my 5k split time except by adding up. The time includes faffing to put my phone in my bum pocket once I started the app, slowing down to remove my jacket as it got warm, patting 2 dogs and lots of those zig zag gate thingies that they out in to stop cars and motor bikes. I also went over on my ankle on a stony bit so there was a bit of hobbling while I tested if it were hurt or just an ouch. So given all that faffage I am happy !
I also ran my fastest 2k which was my speed challenge for August.
Starting slowly to come together maybe ? Time will tell but I'll take the little victories as they come

They are like the Lycra waistband of your leggings but can carry more so don’t jiggle about like a normal belt. I can carry phone, small water bottle, keys on a clip and money in mine.
I use flip belt for up to 10k, but if you are to start HM training you may think about a hydration vest. I bought one for extending to 10 mile. It’s been really handy on long runs in summer.
You may find if you start a little slower your pace may be more sustainable and your overall time might be faster once you become confident with it. That’s easy to say and not so easy to do, though. Took me ages to learn how to start slower.
Normally I do start very sensibly, like a good girl, and often end up with negative splits but today I just felt like going faster and I had signed up for the 2k August speed challenge so just wanted to run it while I was fresh and force myself to carry on lol. Twer a strategy for once
