I'm just back from my first-ever 60 minutes run, so yes, everything is going fabulous!

I had to drop out from the last Bridge because of an injury, then didn't want to push my luck by openly confessing to be on this one, but still followed the plan faithfully up to our vacation in HILLY France (we don't really do hills where I live). There, my long runs were cut a bit short - once by a very long downhill section which turned (rather predictively) into the most viciously steep uphill bit on my way back, and once by a rather chatty Monsieur with a dog, who explained at length that the route I had planned would lead nowhere, but gave me detailed directions to every village in the vicinity I could possibly want to run to - all in French, mind you, which is not my strongest language.

Anyway, the hill training there seems to have paid off, because this morning I went out to do a proper long run and carried on after 50 minutes, then after 55 minutes, till I had completed the full 60 minutes (8,6 km, if Runkeeper can be trusted, and quite happy with that).

So 10k, which seemed so elusive a few weeks ago, now actually look within reach in the near future, but I'll have to see how I can make my new work schedule fit around my running in the next months.

Enjoy your running everyone!

Hi, well I’ve had to take a break this week due to a minor op, not run related. I also missed my long run last week due to a mixture of busy life and the heat. I did get up to 9.5k the week before though so plan to repeat from last week or maybe even the week before.

I’ve run for over 60 minutes but still want to do 10K πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

First run of final week and was hoping it would be the 10k but seem to have lost the will to push on when it gets tough and gave up at 5k. Know I can do it as was nearly there before, just need to shake these gremlins!

So the final run of my plan this morning- 5.30 start, weather perfect and with a restored determination to just keep moving I set off. Hard work and not particularly fast but so so chuffed that I managed the 10k and feel like a runner again. Cant believe I only started running in April and can now run 10k The guidance, support and comments on here have been amazing- so thanks so much to roseabi, ju ju and everyone for sharing and inspiring😊

Final run of the plan completed today. I actually hit 10k in week 6, so this turned out to be my 3rd 10k. Feels amazing. I plan to consolidate over next few weeks before deciding what my next running challenge might be. Definitely curious about going further. But don't want to push myself too hard too soon. When I think back to the start of my running journey in March, when I could hardly manage 60 second intervals on C25K, to what I’m now achieving it’s just remarkable. The posts on these forums about the challenges and achievements definitely helps keep me motivated.

Well I did my 60 minutes on Sunday. It was hard! But I did it. I'm so pleased. Now I, going to go round the plan again running to distance instead of time. Because I'm so slow and expect to repeat some weeks I thought I'd do the first run now rather than waiting for the new plan to start in a couple of weeks. So I've been out for 2.5k today. I live on the side of a steep hill so mostly I've been driving somewhere else to run. Today I decided to walk up to the top and run down, having measured the distance. And now I know the secret to faster running, going downhill!! I've never gone so fast in my life. I may never run on the flat again!

Planning on doing my 60 minute run in the next couple of days. So I’m no longer ahead now but still within the time frame. Sometimes life just gets in the way. I too plan on repeating the plan doing distance instead of time as well. My family thinks I’m nuts but I just love running πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ

So we are at the same stage then! My daughter who is a runner herself is very supportive as is my husband. The others are a bit bemused I think! I would dearly love to get to 10k but I'm so slow it takes me ages! We will have to urge each other on!

No problem GW I’m going to get hubby to start C25K soon, he has Brooks trainers and some Tees & shorts, and I’ll be helping him 😁

Well this is my morning . Got up got dressed in running gear got dog got phone got lead. Walk up the first hill making sure faithful spaniel makes a deposit in the bank of poo. Pick up and put in bin . Right we are at the start of the path so look at Fitbit 5.07 am and 3 2 1 off we go. Down the path to to the dreaded hill up we go thank you Simon and Garfunkel baby driver song! On we go slip on lead to faithful spaniel to get him past the gate off it comes again and off we go up to the end of lane that leads to the farm . Oh we are there now about turn and down we go the sun is rising it’s lovely. Down to the bottom then a little detour turn left and run around car park then back on our home track.

Ooh we are at the point we started at but not an hour yet. Best run round the playing field twice then back to home . Another 5 minutes let the coffee wait. Up and down our own track now and yes it’s 6.07 and it’s done !

Thanks to all who have encouraged me . Faithful spaniel resting for the day now!

Good morning guys, just about to head out for my final run of the plan, I’m bringing the 4 legged friend as storms are due to hit us later, I can’t believe this 8 weeks has finished, some of my runs were filled with self doubt, but I hit a 6 miler on Thursday morning and the sense of achievement was unreal, today is just gonna be the 5 k followed by a spot of yoga, never tried the latter, but here goes, I’ll report back later......over and out πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

It was pretty fab and really relaxing, it’s my definite go to after a run, the tight muscles were well stretched out, now I’m off to chill for the rest of the day, plus I completed my final run of the program, I’ve actually got a 10K booked for next weekend, I know I can do it, just have to stop the voices of self doubt 😳😳

I’ve just ran 60 minutes with my doggie for first time. It’s been awesome, really feel I have more energy than ever! Didn’t manage 10k but it’s in sight now and possible!! Can I have a badge too please, thank you πŸ€—.

Having missed week 8 of Ju-Ju's Magic Plan due to being away on holiday (took the running gear, but it was just too hot in Portugal for me), I wasn't sure where to pick up again. I did a parkrun on Saturday to get back into it then went out this morning to see what I could manage. I spent the first 4-5k coming to the conclusion that I would have to go back to the beginning of the Magic Plan and work up gradually again as it all seemed too difficult. But I kept going and kept going...and finally got home with 10.44 km on the clock. Can hardly believe it, but feeling very chuffed with myself! It took over an hour and 20 mins so rather slow, but I'm happy with that!

Thank you to all the contributors and administrators for the advice and encouragement - I couldn't have done it on my own.

I ran the 60 minutes again this morning just to be sure that I could. I felt that I could have done a bit more ! I’m going to start the plan again when it starts and try to build up to 10 k. Mind as my speed per kilometre is 9 ish minutes that would mean being gone for 90 minutes plus. Not quite sure how I’ll fit that into my morning routine as the mornings are getting darker already. Looks like I’ll have to dig that head torch out!

Hi. I completed my first 60 mins run on Sunday and enjoyed all of it! I chose a new route where lots of proper runners go. Feeling very chuffed to be part of the run family. I covered 8k but think I may try the distance plan next and get to 10k. I need to have a good think about the options...
