Keswick Parkrun helping and hamstring progress

Just a little note to tell you I have not forgotten you all.

Can't run at the moment after injuring my right hamstring sprinting. So I went to Keswick Parkrun as a helper and gave out tokens at the finish line. Met lovely people and had a good morning - no-one mentioned Brex.....!

My 94 yo running friend is also off with plantar fasciitis, but he walked the 5Km. (AlMorr will want to know)

Hamstring is much improved, RICE at the beginning helped, and I am now into short (3Km) walks, but quite slow - any attempt to push the pace and the pain is there. I can even jog on the spot, but not move forward yet.

I will read all your posts after Church, but well done everyone!

I noticed yesterday that John Merrit the 94 year old walked the course with the tail walker yesterday morning, excellent post from you TOF, nice that you were given out the tokens at Keswick Parkrun. This Saturday morning I will be running my first parkrun, I won't forget my barcode, at the end of the run someone hands you a token, that is shown to another person with the barcode and the token is handed back. 😊 🏃

I hope you can get back to running as soon as possible.

Oh that’s good news TOF that you are walking and it’s slowly healing. It takes a while but stick with it.

It’s good to hear that things are improving for you theoldfellow . I’m sure your volunteering is most welcome.

Our future roster for summer is looking very bare at the moment- I think it is quite sad that people don’t volunteer after 10 or 15 runs. Also sad, is that the director told us yesterday that complaints have been made to the council that runners are not staying left and giving way to pedestrians on the prom. We are on a warning. The trouble is not everyone listens to the briefing. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🐕🚶‍♀️🐈🚶‍♂️🐕🚶‍♀️

So glad you were able to get out and volunteer yesterday TOF. It’s miserable being on the IC, but at least you were able to get some PR atmosphere. Hope you’re back up and running before too long. 👍🤞🏃

Pleased to hear that you are improving and that you managed to get to parkrun to volunteer. I’m sure it was much appreciated!

Glad to hear that you're slowly improving and taking care not to exacerbate the injury. Hope it won't be long before you're back running.

Glad you have signs of improvement. Hoping your recovery continues to progress at a speedy pace and soon you’ll be able to move forward at a jog. Good to hear from you.
