Mega-slow run

I'm training for another 10K in July, but did 5K in 47 minutes today - really slow. I gave blood on Friday and found that I had nothing in the tank today. Does anyone else give blood, and if so, how long does it take you to get back to normal? (Bearing in mind that "normal" for me still isn't very fast...)

That 47 minutes is not far off my normal time 😂

I feel you! Definite slowpoke here - hence my "Brian the Snail" avatar.

I would be also interested in how long does it have an impact if you gave blood. Because of my training plan I've postponed giving blood since almost one year so far ... Without running it was ok. Crossfit training was doable - not as usual but I didn't have to miss a training.

It will take you 6 to 8 weeks to replace the red blood cells. During that time you'll feel gradually better. Your running should get back to normal pace before that.

Thanks Joy! 3 days out and still feeling a bit tired. I think I was a bit hasty going back to training.
