5x consolidation runs done. Looking forward to the new Magic 10k starting soon

Well after graduating C25K on 25th May I’ve been a little without steer. I miss having Michael, Laura or Sarah for company or prompting me along the way. I also miss the satisfaction of pressing the complete run button and the ✅ at the end of each run 😂😂.

But, I have persisted, and after contemplating some speed intervals (and trying one short session) I settled on doing 3x consolidation runs pw of 30 mins (or more) whilst waiting to start Ju Ju’s new Magic 10 starting June/soon. Thanks for all the posts on here with ideas to try 👍🏼.

Another goal motivating me on is that I have now done 46 Park Runs (mostly walks until the last couple weeks) and looking forward to getting my 50 T-shirt 😳😜🤪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️. It’ll be a long time before I manage 5k in 30 mins though 😂

I’m not finding the running much easier but have found my steady super slow pace which means I do run for the whole time and the hills are feeling less daunting. My average heart rate has always been high (even on super slow) but it is coming down (In my 50’s and ave now 168 compared to ave 183 at start C25k) so improvements are definitely happening, even if it still feels hard 🏃‍♀️😜👍🏼

Loving this forum, thanks to all the admin and regular posters. It’s so informative and encouraging.

Sounds great and envious of your near pr tshirt achievement! I was thensame post grad, one fartlek one fast short run. Disaster (well nearly made me stop running) so back to 3 x 30’ and slow and all was well. By doing that I really noticed an improvement so I’m sure you will too while you wait for the 10km plan!

thanks, hopefully I’ll see some improvement over time but just happy to be running however slow for now.

Well done on all your great achievements since graduation! Brilliant 👏👏

It doesn’t matter that much what you do after graduation to begin with as long as you run regularly and get into a routine. Which is what you’re doing. Whoop whoop 💪💪

Thank you, pleased I’ve actually managed to run all the way on the last two, albeit in 37 minutes.

That's great - when you start ju-ju's magic plan you should find running longer distances helps your 5k pace. It worked for me !

Thank you. Even got out today for 47 in the pouring rain and as a first time tourist; my local parkrun cancelled today so went to Shrewsbury instead.
