You can do it everyone. Hit 10K for a second last time week, ran the Manc 10K which in Jan I never ever thought was poss as I started C25k and then followed this plan and finishing off the shorter runs this week. Boom. Was well chuffed with my time of 52.17 on Sunday. Never thought I’d be a runner, but there we go... what’s next!?

Morning Roseabi, It's been another good week for the shorts. Firstly thanks for the postings last week about being the best you can and also the fab photo after your superhero run. Awesome.

Back to the shorts decided on the 9k on Monday after work as i had the most time. Checked Weather zero percent chance of rain. Donned shorts set out to my start point. Set my various run apps Runkeeper/strava engaged amazon music. Set off. It started to rain and rained solidly for the next 60 mins and 18 secs till i finished. During the walk back the sun came out. Still it saves tipping water over my head.

Rubbish on the strength again. This week at Pilates it was the band. It's amazing how many ways you can get your feet to slip out of a rubber band. Still the stretching was really good.

Have a great week everyone enjoy the 10k.

Aw, thank YOU! xxx

Well done for your shorts, they seem to work in mysterious ways 😊😊😊

I’m really 2 weeks behind after my stomach bug stopped me for those weeks, but I had managed 8k.

This weeks return to running has been 2 5ks. The one on Monday was slow and I felt my legs a bit on Tuesday, but Wednesday went better.

I have my race for life 10K a week on Sunday so I might try a slow 10K this weekend ...

Most importantly, I have a spa day booked for tomorrow To relax and get psyched up for next weekend!!

roseabi profile image
roseabi in reply to Rubinstar

Excellent!! Hope you enjoyed your spa day - and your 10k run? xxx

RubinstarGraduate10 in reply to roseabi

Spa day was great, I’ve never felt so relaxed!

10K completed today, although I found it tough going from 8.5 to 10 and had to walk the last 1k. However, I did the full distance And so mentally, i’ll be prepared for my race next weekend!

Some knee pain today though which is unlike me so a few runs this week to loosen up and that me ready for the race! πŸ™πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜

It’s been a happy run week! On Tuesday I did my 2nd 10k, thought I’d suffer horribly afterwards but decided to take the risk as I knew for next few days after I’d not be able to fit in a run. And hey, after the run I had a good bath soak and stretches and it seems I’ve been ok so far. 🀞🏻It stays like that!! Happy running all. This magic plan is magic πŸ™‚.

I did it!!! I completed Ju-Ju's 10k magic plan and ran my first ever 10k yesterday. It really works! I did it in 68 minutes, 2 laps of my usual 5k trail route. My run prior I ran my first sub-30 minutes 5k too. The entire C25k to B210k journey I started 15 months ago was a blast, my BMI went from obese to overweight and now I'm borderline normal. I'm so full of joy. Good luck to everyone else!

Hi there, I’d like to join the new magic running plan group starting in June if that’s possible. I’ve been seeing all the positive comments while I’ve been finishing C25K; looks awesome and just the motivation I need to carry on. πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸΌ

roseabi in reply to Dottie_D

But of course! It will be lovely to have you 😊😊😊

Keep an eye out for the new posts in June!

in reply to Dottie_D

I'm a recent C25K grad and I can highly recommend the time plan.

I've ran for 50mins now twice and expect to hit one hour soon. After that I'll go back to the beginning of the plan and try to run a little faster to cover more distance in the allotted time. I really need to get my 5K time much much closer to 30 mins...

Dottie_D profile image
Dottie_DGraduate10 in reply to

Thanks, I’m looking forward to it. And I’ve taken others advice and been for gait analysis today at a proper running shop and bought some new shoes. Can’t believe I thought I was neutral and turns out I am a moderate pronator. But the moderate shoes didn’t adjust my gait so I’ve ended up with a pair of max support shoes; so comfy!! Need to run them in gradually though and hoping it helps with my hot knee joints after running lol πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

in reply to Dottie_D

That's a great reward for finishing the program. Good luck with your next challenge :)

Oh, I'll have to speed up a bit to catch you all. Life and laziness ;) got in the way and I've just finished week 5. But I'm still ahead of my even lazier neighbours :)

Fifty minutes was a long stretch this morning - I had a few chances to quit. Once at the half way mark, and another at 30 mins, but I just applied the brakes and I was good to the end :) Roll on next week!

Well I just managed my first 55 minute run! And only 2 more weeks to go. I'm 'only' covering just over 6K in that time but it's still good progression from the 3.5K I could run after C25K. Guess I'll need to follow a half marathon plan to get me up to 10K!

in reply to sofiaO

You sound just like me! I finished C25k with a similar distance and it now takes me about 45mins to do 5K. I'll probably do around 6.8K in an hour, maybe more if I really push myself.

sofiaO profile image
sofiaO in reply to

Yay! Good to hear I'm not alone. Yes I calculate the same distance for my hour run. Would be lovely to make 7K if possible. I'm using one run a week to try to improve my speed, it would be good to be slightly quicker but I'll never be a fast runner. Are you a treadmill runner too?

in reply to sofiaO

Yes, I'm the one who won't hear a bad word about treadmill running ;) I love it!

Huge congratulations to everyone who has made such fantastic progress on this plan. I am ashamed to say that I haven’t stuck to the program at all - I even began a run and felt zero motivation so stopped and walked home...this is the first time I have ever given up. I am feeling very demotivated. I have some challenges to running which I always use as an excuse not to do it. I need to change my attitude and start afresh. So my name needs to come off of the list 😒

roseabi profile image
roseabi in reply to JoOnTheRun

Hugs!!!!!

Now then, how can we help you get over this? I think that is a good idea of yours not to feel pressurised by the 10k plan, so don't worry about it any more. I know that when I'm not feeling it, I find it most helpful just to let myself have a very short run - if I feel like going further that's great, but if not I can still feel that I've achieved what I set out to do. So I recommend you try that. And have a think about THE REASON WHY you want to run - use that as your motivation and then set about taking small steps to get back into running regularly.

I've just had a quick look back at some of your posts on C25K, and I know you can find your mojo again xxx

B210K completed πŸ˜€ I can’t believe how much my fitness has improved! A year ago I struggled with week 1 of c25k and now I’m running 10K quite comfortably. I will spend some time trying to improve my running times now. I’ve decided to treat myself to new trainers as a reward for not only completing the b210k program but I also ran a 10 mile charity run last weekend and have survived to tell the tale!! Looking forward to half marathon training program now πŸ˜€

I was doing great then it all went. I have struggled the last week or 2. Have something medical going on but not sure what it is yet. Should have finished wk 7 last Sunday and have only run once this week so far. Should get a 5k in tomorrow. Getting hot here too (TRNC) Currently 30 degrees so will be up at Sparrows fart in the morning. Maybe finish WK 7 Monday/Tuesday so hopefully I will Graduate soon!

I was a week behind as I’d taken it easy for a week due to shin splints and other aches and pains. I had high hopes of completing my second 55 minute run while I was away camping last week. The camp site was nice enough but the clientele hideous.

First night I had about two hours sleep as we found ourselves in the middle of a rave. The next nights weren’t much better but this time it was just boring middle aged drunks.

About seven hours sleep over three nights meant I’ve been catching up on sleep so my 55 will happen on Sunday. Who knows, I might be able to break the 10k mark.

1 more week to go now! πŸ€— Seeing some improvement in my short runs, but still finding the long run tough post 45 minutes.

25Β°C air temp, a river of sweat behind me. 5K in 44 mins, a total distance of 6.13k in 55 mins.

Yep, that's six km in fifty five minutes. Frightening 😱

It's tough going in those sorts of temperatures, but it will make you stronger!! xxx

in reply to roseabi

I think so. My legs weren't so tired today compared to after the last long run.

Jonno34 profile image
Jonno34Graduate10 in reply to

Where are you running with those temps?

in reply to Jonno34

I'm in the Far East. Yesterday was a hot day but today, my rest day, it's been raining all day. Back to high temps tomorrow, then rain again on my next rest day (: The coolest time to run is 1-5am but not the most practical. Even as early as 7 or 8, temps are 20Β°C or more. Luckily I've got my trusty treadmill to get me through the summer months πŸ˜€

DONE IT!

I admit it was hard. I was ahead of you at the start repeated the 7k week to let you all catch up then it went to pot a bit. A few medical issues had me a bit worried, allergies which have never bothered me also hit me when I was in Istanbul which I was really peeved about as I wanted to run there. (Did I really utter words that included "wanted to run").

Trying to ditch a few extra stubborn pounds we have started the 5:2 plan after watching the prog on the beeb. This week due to unforeseen circumstances we had to move the fast days around and consequently instead of 2 separate days we had 2 back to back. I was going to run on one but did not feel like it so this morning (after 2 days on 500Kcal) I went out along the coastal pathway in 26 degree heat for a run. Her indoors asked what was my plan I said I will see, probably 4 or 5 k depending on how it goes as i did not know how much fuel I had in the tank.

The path is about 3k long and has a little cafe on it and I start with a 5 min warm up walk. I started the run going nice and slowly as I was not sure how I would feel after the fast, got to one end and turned back. For 4/5K I would normally turn at halfway so I guess I was thinking that 6 may be on the cards. 5 passed and I was approaching the start again. I started to muse over the possibility of this being it, should I go for it. Got to the start turned around did a body check and continued, nice and slow getting a few smiles from walkers who I had now passed 3 times! At about 7.5k I was getting dry, startings of a headache too. The cafe was about the 8k and as I approached I called to the owner for some water, a lovely chap called Zihini (known as Ziggy). My mouth was sticky by now, the hills (minor gradients) were hard but I was OK even if I felt like those stranded cowboys in the desert in the old Westerns. Sipping the water as I want I got to the end of the path with now a little less than a km to go, I turned got just past the cafe and I had done it. I returned to the cafe using the walk as a warm down, had some ayran, more water, more water and a bacon toastie but now I had a problem. Chuffed to bit as I was, I was now about 2k from the car. Bad planning!

Feel ok after, continuing to hydrate bit stiff and my left hip is a bit unhappy but I have jobs to do which will work off the stiffness and best of all beer with one of my besties tonight!

Special thanks to all the support, and an extra thanks to Roseabi who seemingly does a tireless job on here!
