Many rivers to cross. (New longest run)

Went out this morning to try and find a route from home into the forest rather than driving there. I new it would be a fairly long run and all was going well until I actually got into the forest when I found myself completely confounded by streams and bogs.

I learned many things. My log balancing is pants. My new iphone really is waterproof.

I can run for two and a half hours without water, sweets, gels or Big macs. (Easily as it happens.)

You can keep your Maffetone quackery. Run like a Loris.

Wow! Sounds like quite an adventure. Glad your phone's waterproof feature lived up to the task 😅

Fortunately no witnesses to my fall from athletic grace. No one else would be daft enough to use that path.

It is. Another great star gone.

A beautiful sky, a wonderful day.

Whip-crack-away, whip-crack-away, whip-crack-away!

Might put it on my running playlist.

(Edit. No horses were hurt in the writing of this reply.)

I love Doris Day. When I saw Calamity Jane I immediately wanted to be a cowgirl 🙂

Blimey, that does sound like an adventure! So no Dirty Dancing on the log then 😮

I've had the time of my life.

Nobody puts Loris in the corner.

He can put himself in the water though.

I think he would have stayed dry.

No, no - but would emerge glamorously damp with his shirt sticking elegantly to his abs, whereas the rest of us.... are lucky our iPhones are waterproof and no one has a camera! Actually, it sounds like a good run. Well done. 👍

Don't mean to be a kill-joy but do tell someone where you are going if you go off trail. Or use Strava beacon or some other tracker. (Twisted ankles, busted heads and smashed phones etc.). I do a lot of bush whacking in Finland and even 500-600m off a forest path is pretty much the middle of nowhere with a busted ankle or worse with no working phone.
