Well what a lovely sunny day!! ๐ Itโs really getting hot out there now! Yesterday, I did a 5.7k walk on Day 2 of my Move for Mind Challenge.
I did some award winning faffing today. I was dressed for a run from 8am and created quite a few unnecessary obstacles for myself (we wonโt go into it! ๐).
I was meeting a friend for coffee at 12. So, by 11am (yeah 11! ๐ฅด), I was heading out to do Day 3 of Move for Mind! By the time I was โready to goโ, the run options on the app were already narrowed down for me, based on time. This couldnโt be a leisurely long run. So, it was intervals in the little park near home ๐ฏ. 17 minutes in total (45 seconds recovery between each split) and nicely named โOn the Moveโ!! ๐๐ฝ.
The App says it starts with you fast and ends with you faster! ๐คจ I wasnโt convinced I could do fast, but quick was what I needed. ๐ค
After the 5 mins warm up, I did have a 5:35 split and the last one 6:09, so not faster at the end, but very fast for me. It was quick and that was very rewarding indeed!! I was back in time for a quick shower and then straight out again. Perfect. It was a burning platform, but that got me moving. And weโre done! โ
Little Park is perfect for intervals. And I had the park to myself too. I didnโt think Iโd enjoy the faster pace, but because of the 45 second intervals (to catch your breath๐), it works really well. Itโs over before you know it and Iโd do it again too. ๐๐๐ฝ

Well done you...! I did my first intervals yesterday too - loved it! I call myself Anxious Annie on account of thefaffing I do to avoid actually getting out and running!! May I ask what the app is that you use? I like that it makes choices for you!! X
I use the Nike Run Club App. You can create a programme with a target and it makes the choices for you. Or, you can choose from a range of various types of guided runs. You can check the duration and type of run and just choose what suits from that. Iโm doing the latter at the moment because Iโm really focusing on getting out regularly again, rather than a specific goal. I love the way thereโs always something to suit the mood. Including a โDonโt wanna run, runโ! ๐ The coaching is specific to the one you select. It really works for me. ๐ฅฐโค๏ธ
Well done ... and thatโs fast ๐ although now my back is feeling better me and fast are not going to be new friends but me slow are going to be ongoing friends ๐ and great cause too ๐
Oh thank you Bridget! ๐ค Honestly the splits are very short. 2 minutes is the longest and thatโs at a 10k pace. I wouldnโt (and couldnโt) run 10k at 6. anything. ๐, but I guess itโs good practice if you want to learn a bit more about how to pace yourself. I enjoy running slow when itโs long. Iโd be unrelaxed if I was going fast ๐ฅด. Iโd rather the last minute burst, if Iโve still got it in me.
I do like to think of being on a track in intervals. Missed out on anything running related at school โบ๏ธ. I stuck to other sports, like netball and field sport. I know now that I might have been ok at it if I was brave enough at the time. Still I can make up for it in my running adventures now! ๐๐โค๏ธ
