Losing quicker than gaining

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice.

I have two young children and my partner works away. When he’s home I manage to get out 3 times a week and completed couch to 5k. However when he goes away I can’t get out for a run unless I get someone in to look after the kids, so at best I get out once a week. I just go backwards so fast and it’s really demoralising me. I’ve come so far I don’t want to give up but I just don’t see the point in continuing when all I do is spend the time he’s home building my fitness back up and then lose it all again the next time he goes away.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Do you have the funds for a treadmill? Second hand/ gumtree often have them at very reasonable prices...

Thanks for the reply. I looked into that but I don’t really have room to put it anywhere. ☹️

Can the children come along with you make it a family thing?

Other than that do exactly as your doing and make good use of the time you can go. You could use a home workout and get the workout that way on the weeks you can’t get out for the 3 runs. davina has some workouts that could push the fitness level of around 30 mins. Don’t change the goal change the route!

😊

My 4 year old hasn’t got the stamina or inclination and I don’t like the idea of puajing a pram while running. That’s definitely an idea for when they’re a bit older though thank you.

Home workouts for fitness, great idea thank you. I’ll get on YouTube !

i highly recommend Davina - i love her workouts and you can do 30 mins or an hour - depends on how occupied the kids are. mine normally distract me at 45 mins but manage to bat them away until i finish :-)

good luck in finding something that you enjoy

Is that a dvd or are her videos online?

i have a DVD but the workouts are on youtube too - just type in Davina Workout. Kick Fit and bottom fit are my total favorites and the yoga stretch is also amazing (all on same DVD)
