5K by accident!

So I thought today’s longer run was a good chance to follow a tempting but unknown path. And it was. The path wound and angled through new fields and between smallholdings and eventually popped out onto a main-ish road I thought I knew, so I turned left and... did not come to the expected junction! 😨 But then there was a good wide verge so I kept on a bit and came to ... a known pub, much further from home than I had planned. 😱 Oooops.

Oh well, turn and keep in the tough grass verge and eventually, there’s the Common & the known way home and off the road! And tho’ Run Keeper said time was up, when I looked I was too close to that 5K to stop now, so.... 🎉👏🏼🎉 Happy result in the end. 🏃🏼‍♀️😎👍 And fingers crossed that all my previous Good Behaviour will get me off without too much in the way of sore muscles, given the extra running time. I was Really Virtuous about the cool down and stretching, just for insurance. And pleased to have cracked the 5K marker goal before my birthday in early May. 😄😄😄🎉

Well done Granspeed..PB by accident is great. If you felt ok after the run you should be fine..most of the bad stuff I have experienced was obvious before I stopped the run 😊

Thanks. Hope it goes like that! Can feel my calves but otherwise still ok (I ran first thing this morning.) so fingers crossed.

Well done Granspeed! I’ve had the odd run like that: you have no choice but to keep going if you’ve gone a bit too far off track!

Psychologically speaking, I prefer those surprise wins. You seem to get an even better boost to love of this sport.

Well done on the 5Km. Do you feel the Ultramarathons calling yet? (no, me neither)

👏❤👏❤👏❤👏❤👏❤

😂 Just delighted that I made that first distance target. Tho’ 10 K is actually beginning to appear on my Ambition Horizon, which I never imagined would happen. Now to get quick enough so it’s not an all day challenge.... 🐢💨
